schools might offer gun training to due to low number of hunters i think it is a ok idea thing i love is that they might offer survival course about time for survival to hit the school:D:cool:

oh man i hope it hits new york i would love to take survival and hunting courses but i do not need any from being from a hunting family i know quite a lot about hunting and thanks to you guys i know a ton about survival with some help from you guys i could teach the class lol:D:cool:

Most of you'all young'ins would be shocked to know that we took our rifle's or shotgun's to school, yes on the school bus. Yes, ammo also. We got off the school bus on the other side of the mountain, and hunted our way home.

I think after the war (WW II) people were so sick of killing and death, that the thought of shooting humans was not comprehendable. Now if you disrespect someone, you skip the fist fight and go straight to guns. I sure got to live at a good time in America.

Ah man, hopeak, how true. I could walk down our street on my way out or back hunting with a .22 or a 12guage when I was a ten year old kid and not get a second look. Now, I'm tempted to say something sarcastic about..'what, you're not all packing guns to school already?' You are recalling some good old days.

My first year of college a guy brought a shotgun in for a demo one day. Actually had live ammo. He removed all the lead pellets from the shell....some of you know where I'm going don't you.....Yep. During the demo he pulled the trigger on that little puppy. The primer ignited the powder still in the shell and the waddin' blew a whole in the maps on the wall. We had a new rule about guns posted that very afternoon not to mention about 30 folks that walked around saying "What?" for a few days.

I remember after school one day 4 or 5 of us were waiting in the parking lot with our guns when one of the teachers walked by and asked what we were doing ? We said wanting for Mr. Williams.. OK the teacher said and want on . Today the cops would have been called . But back then Mr Williams was going hunting with us no big deal.

wow makes you wonder why it changed i mean even then people died just because someone shoots up a school should not make everyone think guns are the devil besides none of the recent shootings even used hunting rifles they used handguns just ban handguns then if they are afraid of them in school as long as a responablie person is there it should not matter

:mad: Now you are treading on my toes. I am a decent shot with a handgun, haven't hunted with a rifle in years. You start splitting hairs you might as well join Handgun Control or whatever they call themselves. As for killing a folding stock, cut down barrel, several magazines in 22cal is more accurate, easily concealed and not worth a d@@n for anything else. This handgun attitude is gonna push this country to join Australia and England. Ask someone from these countries about their gun and knife laws. When you can get locked up for a 3 1/2" lockback and God forbid they carry any type of firearm. If we don't get it together we will be headed that way. That's my OWN opinion and it does get my back up.:mad::mad:

I think he meant ban handguns from school but let kids bring the rifles. Not ban handguns entirely. At least that's how I read it.

It is my firm belief that if everyday citizens weren't discouraged from carrying, this country would be much safer.

Before there was "gun control", the crime rate was much lower. Probably because the criminals back then were afraid that if they broke into someones home there was a good chance that they were going to face some flying lead.

I grew up in the country. I didn't even lock my truck, didn't have a reason too. The first night I moved into the house that I had just bought on the edge of town, three young punks decided to break into my truck. I simply loaded up some birdshot in my 20ga then proceded outside when they took off running straight down the middle of the street. Needless to say they were followed by three rounds of birdshot. Problem solved. No one in the neighborhood had any more problems with break-ins. And the would be burglars went away with stinging behinds and a valuable lesson learned.

You almost don't see any kids shooting up the schools in NYC becuase everyone knows that everyone knows that everyone eles has a gun.

I think it has a whole lot less to do with guns that it does with people teaching their kids to take responsibility for their actions and respect of other people and their property. My dad told me if I got a whippin' at school I should expect one at home (yeah, they really did that back in the brown boot army). I remember some teachers that would drill wooden holes in the paddle to help aerodynamics. Sort of a backwoods version of tennis.

I read the post and understand it. I do not subscribe to splitting firearms into handguns, rifles, shotguns, assault(black) rifles etc. The way I read the 2nd Amendment it doesn't have a section for each. The "gun grabbers" in this country would start with handguns then black rifles and work their way down to my muzzle loaders. I own all of the above and have carried concealed for over 40yrs and I am thankful I have never pulled my pistol, but it's there. At my age I probably could defend myself without it since I can carry a walking stick almost anywhere and I am reasonably decent in the art of Bartitsu but canes will be on the banned list also. Be it a firearm, knife even a cane I don't believe in splitting objects in categories as most of us know even a magazine or pen can kill. I guess to be politically correct we will be walking around naked, but then I guess I will probably be charge for assault with a "dead" weapon.:D

no no no i'm not talking about banning handguns from the U.S i mean allow hunting rifles just ban handguns from school sorry for the confusion:D

i agree if they allowed guns into schools they should go over gun safety and proper handleing and it is right that if you knew everyone in school had a gun you would not shoot it up because you would not want to be shoot amazeing how easily it seems that the wolf pack solves the worlds probelms world domntion
