Not a survival issue, but I am stoked. It has been a over a year since I have driven her. I finally got the last items fixed (Still got some cosmetics and wiring, but she can travel). Swapped in a battery and a new vacuum modulator. Now my Baby is back on the road. Weather looks nice enough, I may just drive her up to work this week (especially since I am only working two days).

My Grandmother drove it off of the showroom floor in 1965. My first memory is sleeping in the back window while my Grandparents drove from Pendleton to Portland. I have been driving it (legally) since 1983. If I am ready to turn lose of it, my Daughter will get it. (To the disappointment of my soon to be 17 year old Son). He did not want to have anything to do with it when I had the engine out for two years due to deployment and a remote assignment. He wanted his Mom's new car. My Daughter said fine, she would take the Mustang even if it was not running.

I'm too young for all that nostalgia, but i did learn to drive on an old nova. with big extended mirrors it was about 1.5" narrower than the garage door and had a ton of slop in the steering. fun stuff.

You youngsters! I was old enough to drive one legally when it was new! I had a real nice '68 also. I had a 68 Mustang and the first wife had a new '68 Comaro. There was a'48 Jeep in the drive too. It was about as old as I was though.

289 A code 4V Engine
AT C4 transmission
Standard rearend (can't remember the ratio at the moment) NOT a limited slip
The heads have been enlarged to 2.02 intake and 1.75 exhaust (basically a BOSS 302 head specs on a 289 bottom). I did this when I put the hardened seats in so I could run unleaded gas. Really improved gas mileage (with dual exhaust), if I keep my foot out of it.
