Old Mora Porn

Looking thru my gear, some has been around for a long time, I took these old Mora's and put them in one place for a photo op.

Left two are marked Mora on both blade and sheath, circa 1960's
One on the left isn't marked, but was supposed to be a Mora from the same period.

My FIL carried this hunting, and had always told me that it was a Mora.
The sheath looks like the one Cody wore in the Africa episode

I love Scandinavian knives. You can tell the designs come from 1000 yrs of using.

It is rumored that Mora and Frost added the guards just for the American market.

There were at least a half dozen knife making firms in Mora, Sweden depending on the time period and going back to the late 18th Century. You may well have a Mora knife, that is it was made in Mora Sweden or the nearby town of Ostnor but not a Mora as we think of in trade names.

While not a prominent feature of Swedish knives you can certainly find metal guards being manufactured back into the early 1900s.

All three of those are dandies and proves that a knife doesn't have to be expensive to be good.
