Few New Works From Edger and Lawnmower Blades

Was talking with a Friend At work about my knife making and he asked Me If I Could Use Edger and Lawn mowerblades .I Said Yea If I Can Find Some .So Within a Few Days He Gave me 13 Lawn mower Blades and 6 Edger Blades. Here's What I Have Made so Far.Working On another On So I'll Post that When I'm Done.

Ok ,Just Finished another Lawnmower Blade .This Knife Was Made for the Guy Who Gave Me the Lawnmower Blades As a Justure Of Thanks .You'll Notice 2 Things 1 The Handle Is a Bit Short. It Was Made that Whay Due to the Guy Only Haveing 2 Fingers and a Thumb On His Right Hand. Missing 2 Fingers. 2nd I Left the Grass Side On the Blade more Of a Joke Since He Cuts Lawns for a Living..I Hand Stiched the Sheath .(Learned How to Stick with 2 Needles From Watching You Tubes Vids. So Enjoy.

Cool, I love handmade stuff so much better than the production line stuff! And recycleing is always a good thing. Like eveyone else, Im sure he will like it.

Are you just cutting, grinding and polishing? Or are you actually heating and beating your blades? Nice stuff btw.

1st I Anneal the Edger or Lawn Mower Blades Then Let Air Cool
2nd I Draw the Blade onto the Metal
3rd I Cut it out with my Angel grinder and Shape the Profile out and Smooth the Edges
4th I Remove Metal and Work the Knife and Drill Holes In Tange before I Heat treat Blade
5th I Heat treat Blades and Quench In Warmed Oil then Bake at 400 for 1 Hour x2's
6th Clean and Sand Knife Attach Handles and Hand Sand from 240 to 400,600,1000,15000 and then Either 2000/6000 or 12000 to Finish and Buff iff Needed .
Knife Done .
