Destruction on Main Street, again

We were sitting outside under the garage, enjoying the cool breeze and watching the rain, which we haven't seen any of in a LONG time, as all this went down. What's so amazing is that the wind barely even blew here. Just 2 miles up the road, Historic downtown was turned into a junkyard.

The view from across the highway. What's crazy about this is that I put the roof on the house directly in front of the carnage, and not a single shingle blew off.. there must be something to using a real hammer instead of a nail-gun...

Glad you and your family are OK.

We haven't had much rain at all so far. Very dry. Unfortunately for the areas that have gotten them (very infrequently) they have come with a lot of lightning. Between January 1st and May 31sr there have been 2997 wild fires in Florida. I know the number has grown - in the mornings before the sea breeze kicks in the smoke around here is very thick.

I suspect it will be a very active storm season this year.

As far as I know, nobody was hurt. The last blast (thunderstorm and lightning burnt down 3 businesses) was only a block away from this building. If this keeps up, There won't be much of a town left here. If this had been outside of town, in any given direction, there probably would have been people hurt.

We never felt like we were in any danger at all.. like I said, the wind here was just a gentle breeze. Crazy!
