I met up with a buddy of mine yesterday. He loaned me a carbine conversion kit to take home and try out. I'm not sure if it's real practical but it goes bang and that at least makes it fun to play with.

I brought it home and installed my kimber on it. The slide is pulled of and the frame is installed on the "upper". It has a 16 inch barrel and shoots 45 acp.

It looks like that might be a Mech-Tech but there appear to be a lot of makers.

It gives him an excuse to buy a rifle scabbard. If you can't keep up, take notes. Sheesh!

it's a mech-tech. I haven't shot it yet so I don't know how well it shoots.

yes I do LOL, I've been working on project overload for some time now and now it's garden planting time. It would be considerably easier to find time if this pesky job of mine wasn't in the way but I'm not complaining just observing LOL.

I even have my own ammo in various bullet forms and can function test as well as do the accuracy check. I also have an assortment of magazines and would be happy to tell you which brands work best.

Just to make it easy, you can remove the frame and just send the kit, I can furnish a receiver.

Bet I could make a holster for it too. They used to think that was a pretty good idea.

I was banned from the square my first day of retirement! Seems there is a rule against shooting pigeons with a snubnose revolver inside the city limits. I wish they had told me the rules first! No one made that clear.

Send that thing on down here, I'll cut time out of the yard mowing and garden tilling schedule and make an extra range run as soon as the rain stops.

As far as bad-mouthing the toys, well, I just have to do that. If everyone degraded the comments to "Nice gun" we would have page after page of two sylable posts just like the
Survivalist Boards.

Although this one I really can see little advantage too. It ain't even pretty like that .22 Baretta unit or the trick guns of the '50s when this was popular.

But...to each his own. your money/your gun. People yell at me for cutting up Milsurp guns and I do it anyway (sometimes just to irritate them).

Those weren't pigeons. Those were youngins and it was a horrible scene. Little kids and mothers running in all directions. If you get new glasses you can tell the difference. They both smell but one is a bit bigger.

That's probably why they would not fly away when the cars approached! I never thought of that.

Good thing it was before the catarac surgery, if I had been able to see the sights they would have been in big trouble!

As far as the pursuit of doing nothing; I have learned that it takes a great deal of practice to do nothing properly. It is almost an art form, like yoga (there's a bear joke waiting to happen).

I am told that if I progress at my present rate I will pass from the status of being "almost useless" to the catagory of "nearly worthless" as the pension checks continue.
