A little extreme on reproducing, though. Why, I can think of at least 20 moronic things that would trump that. And that's just moronic. Don't get me started on other categories...it could be an all nighter.

Her mother should have had her tubes tied 30 years ago. We had three people kicked to death in Anchorage in one year, roughly 2002. I would not trust a moose as close as I would (and Have) trust a large Grizzly/Brown Bear.

That's why moose should be equipped with warning signs. "Warning! Do not agitate moose." It should have been posted on a clearly visible place on the moose's side. This has to be someone else's fault!

On a positive note on this, that newspaper is a really good one, thanks for the link SD. I love to read about AK as well as all the TV shows. Not a place I could ever live due to low avail of dialysis centers, but have always dreamed of it. Last time I was there, it was one of my fav vacations.

SD, what is the legal situation with Bald Eagle Feathers, are you allowed to own them as a field pick up from the beaches and such? I honestly do not know the answer to this.

I don't know. I have had people give me static about a feather in my hat. But I just tell them it is a turkey feather, or a Bald Buzzard feather, that shuts them up. Eagle feathers and eagle nests are everywhere here on the coast. Unless they did a DNA test I don't know how they would know what it was.
NOTE: If the SHTF I will be eating Bald Eagle & Great Horned Owls.

I rem walking down the one beach in AK, bald eagles...HUGE... were in droves HUNDREDS on the beach just like seagulls eating washed up fish. I mean you just walked through them, they just hopped out of the way....they were neither affraid nor cared us humans were there. I wanted so bad to bend down and grab a couple feathers as they were everywhere on the sand/rocks, but I was never sure if it was legal or not.....the 1/128 native blood I have, I do not think would save me LOL. I know that in Montana, unless you are a registered native american, you cannot possess one, end of story and is very tightly enforced. I am not sure how they tell it from a turkey feather, but some how they can by sight alone.

I do not think I could ever eat an bald eagle, just on the basis of respect..... as if there are eagles, there are other animals I am sure...... I bet they taste like fishey chicken though.....

My property in PA is infested with dang barn Owls (illegal to hunt, capture, trap or BOTHER them), I mean really infested and PA DNR will not do a dang thing like relocate them or something.

I think that the feathers of any predatory bird are protected by federal law.

We had the WMA "feather police" invade one of our rondys many years back and haul a bunch of people to jail for feather and hide violations. That was at the House boys rondy in Woodbury, KY back in the late 80s.

One of the "victims" was Hawk Bouden, the old fellow that was featured in the Foxfire Books in their section on Rondys. He had been wearing a hawk talon around his neck for decades and they arrested him for it. He was about 80-85 at that time. A real threat to humanity and the social order by their standards I am sure.

Barret 50 my butt! I want a reconditioned German 88 AA gun if i see one of those things flying at me. Looks like some of the misquitoes down on the Cumerland River.

As far as the kicked girl goes, I do not see it as totally her fault. She has simply believed what the National Geographic and PBS has fed her for years. Wild animals are cuddly and need petting. If you treat them nice they will love you for it and never hurt you.

I'll bet she has soaked up the same media hype about terrorists, politics and the economy.

In general, people believe what an authority figure tells them, even if it is not logical.

Never forget that average is the exact middle, one person. Half the population is above average, and half is below average. Problem is that the below average portion seems to breed faster than the above average part, which is constantly bringing the curve down.

I am sure there are uppers for the AR for that 88mm and maybe even a 155mm with ASTAT-active laser sighting and Depleted Uranium rounds.... LOLOL....they make an 50 upper out there somewhere and a guy in cali hand makes 20mm uppers. There is also a BELT fed upper in .308 and uses M60A2 links.....back in the day, Gene Stoner made a weapon called the Stoner Weapons System and was basically a combo of an AR and M60 that would take mags, belts and drums without any change out.

Gawds, now we have to change the buffalo wings to BBQ Moose Wings..... *wondering what Moose Wing sauce would taste like.....

Keep it going boys, I just about got her convinced that I/we would be getting off easy(cheap) with the Minimum in fire power, as the Barret .50 would be (88?, Hummmm) (just nod here, OK?)

I also told her to quite petting deer until we get this issue sorted out.....just as a precaution.
