Knockoff interchangable parts

Is there someone here that has actually tested the interchangability of the parts in any of the knock off shotguns so widely available.

Maveric 88 = Mossburg 500

Pardner pump = Remington 870

I have owned neither gun and have zero knowledge past the internet chatter, which I do not hold in high reguard, the ignorance level being what it is out there.

Some claim everything but the barrels will interchange. Some say nothing swaps or only certain parts. The next guy says only the safties are different. Most are only concerned about how well the tatical goodies hang on for photo opps and that is the least of my concerns.

Ahh, for the good old days! I already own one shotgun with a Western Auto frame, Montgomery Ward barrel, Williams polychoke, butt stock from Numrich and forend from some tatical goody supplier. It is a Mossburg 500 with no sign of a Mossburg brand name anywhere on it.

I built it from abandoned parts I had laying around. (Bet you didn't figure that out already.) I really want to know if there is a $200 gun out there I can use as an operating organ doner/reserve gun, or visa versa.

KY, I have the Maverick 88 in the 8 shot Security version. I put the Mossberg Ghost ring sight kit on it as well as the Mossberg barrel shield. I used the Maverick swivel kit but it's actually made by Mossberg and tagged Maverick.

I can tell you one thing you don't want on the Maverick and that's a pistol grip. The way the slide release is situated behind and to the left of the trigger housing you can't reach it unless you have piano playin' fingers.
