CRKT M.U.K. (marine utility knife) paracord handle wrap

Did this handle wrap with some blaze orange paracord on this plastic knife handle to enhance the grip and visibility of this boat knife. 3-turn turks head with 5 passes of paracord, three tan and two blaze orange. The lanyard includes a tan paracord bead so this can be used in two ways, thumb wrap or wrist wrap. Sorry if PC/photo colors are off. The "pegs" for the turks head were done using paper clips taped on.

That bulbous wrap looks like just the thing and your wrap-work is - as usual - great.

I didn't want to mention it, but I think somebody took a bite out of your knife...

1. How much cordage (ball park is okay) would you have?
2. Did you gut the sheath or is it full cordage?

I've got no secrets; all questions are fair game. There is 25' of cord in this handle and all inner strands are left intact.

I know LOL; I felt very guilty doing this knife without the camera on; its just that I've been putting serious though into this and think it may need to be a mini-series. I've got three hatchets to do and will do some recording.

I know this thread has been dead for some time but I just wanted to say thanks to the paracordist for all the vids and pointers! I followed all the tutorials you have on your site mainly the one for the Fiskars and this is what I came up with. It was my first time ever trying this and I am pretty happy with the outcome. I only ran into two issues. First you can see that I made some mistakes in the pattern, mainly the fact that I ran out of the graphite color 550. The other issue I had was that when I went through and got all the slack out, the friction tape left that black residue all over the cords. Maybe I just had a cheap brand of tape but most likely I didn’t do something right. Hopefully it will rub of over time. Anyhow, thanks for the instructions hopefully my next try will have a little better execution.

And sorry about ripping off your original color scheme I have always just liked the grey/ orange color combo. I did try to switch it up a bit by going with graphite grey and international orange ;)

….Now I just have to do something about that awful sheath…

Pic. Maybe cuz I'm on my phone. I have had the issue with friction tape if the weave is very tight already. My suggestion is to use it sparingly perhaps three rings top bot and mid rather than spiral all the way. The friction of the knot especially after shirk is dodo great it won't move especially on an item that is curved or flares larger at end. Be nor concerned where the shape offers no stopper, like say a broomstick. Another point is they friction tape can be used to reduce the tightness you need
