Please vote tomorrow. It really is extremely important.
This is not about politics, it is about being an American at a time in history when OUR Country is in trouble. Your vote matters.

I hope other states are given better options than we have. Not sure I'm going to vote yet and will have to hold my nose if I do. It makes sense to vote if you are given a choice. All ours are lying politians.
By not voting, you are simply giving up your right and your responsibility for others to decide for you. Whether I think any of the candidates will do a good job really isn't germane to the question. One of them will be elected so it's incumbent upon me to determine who I think will do the better job and vote for them. Voting is a fundamental right in a democracy. It's no different than the right to bare arms or the right to be protected against illegal search and seizure. I have no desire or intention of giving that right away. Yet, over half of our citizens will not vote in this election. They should move to a country run by a dictator where they don't have the right to vote.

I have the right NOT to vote if I dont want to,, I dont want to help ant of these liars get into office, as far as I am concerned they are ALL Bad,, Why waste my gas and time .... No thanks,
It really does because one of them will be elected so I had better try to get the best of the lot in office.

When given a choice, I vote. I will not be played by liars which is all we have running in Alaska. I know they are all morally bankrupt here and none deserve a single vote. I am a true independent and not moderate about anything. I voted for Reagan and Clinton. In the last election I sent 100 dollars to Dennis Kuchinich and voted for McCain. I vote for integrity and Alaskan candidates just don't have any this time around.

I'm gonna vote libertarian across the board.
I really don't won't to turn this into a political discussion. How you vote is your business. If you choose not to vote then don't. But you have no right to complain about what you wind up with......and you know I'll remind you about February. I'm like an elephant. Okay, I'm not quite that big but I do have a good.....a good...oh, yeah, memory.

They will say or do anything to get elected. I'm sure you know Lisa Murkowski is a write in candidate but did you know a local radio personality was encouraging people to go sign up as write in candidates using various mispellings of Lisa Murkowski's name to take votes away from her that may have merely been mispelled. 150 people actually did it! I've caught them all in bold faced lies that they knew were lies just to mislead the uninformed public. I believe in what some of our candidates are saying but they don't and I don't believe in them.

I spent the morning at a campaign rally for a candidate that I have been volunteering for for almost two years. If you don't like your choices, find somebody that you do like and support them. Sitting back until just before election day and coming to the realization that none of the candidates share your values is the fault but your own. There have been grass roots movements started by people just like you and me that have fought to change the face of politics. Get involved and let your voice be heard. This does not apply to one particular political party, but rather all of us.

HEAVEN AND HELL
While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.
Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...”
So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell...
Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.
"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"
The devil smiles at him and says,
"Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted.."

I always vote, I consider it the obligation of a free man (and of course woman).And over the years I got alot of bumps and bruises helping to maintain that right for free folks. When I can not find a candidate that I want to support, I vote GRIP(Get rid of Incumbent Politicians)

I'd like to see that option myself. At the very least it would send a message and make me feel better.

If you really want to send a CLEAR message, vote for change, vote to replace anyone who allowed it to happen to our great country. There are people in congress that I like, but the only way to wake up the whole bunch, is to communicate that we are no happy with the direction they have allowed the country flounder during their watch.

I would just like some candidates with common sense. The two parties are two polar opposites with no middle ground. There are too many deal-killer issues on both sides. And the candidates in the middle parties are way too fuzzy brained, at least around here.
I used to apply the maxim that if there is no one to vote For, then vote Against.
Even that no longer works.
I'll vote.
But I won't like it.

I guess I'll be voting but not for any candidate. I'll be voting for grid lock so they won't screw it up anymore than they already have.

Just got back a few minutes ago from voting. Like JIC I don't trust 99% of those running HOWEVER some of those did put forth some good ideas/points/plans. IMO a large portion of those now in office are not working. So I voted to give someone else a chance. the 1% I trust I know personally and have for years. They have done a good job until now. So I can only hope that I have done the right thing and researched the issues good enough and made the right choices. Time will tell. The good news is my wife after listening to me rant about the politicians now in office ( most of them) and the discussions between me and my family she ( the wife) decided to vote for the first time in 10 years.

You can "under vote" if you don't want to vote in a certain race. However, if you don't participate, you miss casting votes for a lot of state and local referendum issues that do affect you directly, e.g. taxes, guns, schools, etc. That in itself is enough for me to participate.

We got that option in KY this year!
Rand Paul is running for the senate as a professed Liberatarian endorsed by the Republican Party. He is running on the basis of "No comprimise on constitutional issues". When asked what was his definition of a "constitutional issue" his reply was "All of them".
When the opposing candadate started throwing mud RP refused to shake hands with him at the debates saying it was rediculious to condone, authorize and accept such action from anyone by shaking their hand as if you were submitting to them.

Well, having read this and general news of late, I decided to go vote for the first time in my life. In the past I was satisfied with the results of not voting. No longer, so I went on up there. Must say it was a surprise, no line at all. In SC, I had the opportunity to vote for my fundemental state right to hunt and fish. I am very glad I did that. So far as the rest, I don't know enough, just know I don't like the medicine we have been getting, so I voted for "Change" or change them out of office!

I just got back from the polls. There was a good crowd there, but they were moving along very well. Keep in mind that I am in a rural area and a crowded parking lot at the polls is unusual.
I siddled up to the old guy greeting people at the door and asked himn if he could tell anything about the crowd.
"Yea, they're all mad!"
He said he had been working the polls for more than 20 years and had never seen almost everyone that came through the door ready to bite a nail in half.
It seems the Democrats they voted for last election did not define "hope and change" the same way as the democrats their grandaddy voted for.

DW and I just got back from voting, bigger turn out than the primaries.
It's interesting that one of the referendums was for "High speed train", between Milwaukee and Madison. Gov funded.
Seems to me like a "go green thingy", but like anything else, with the Govment paying the down payment on something we really don't need, want or can afford.
I was on all the surrounding townships ballet, but not on the city's ballet. hmmm.

I voted late morning today. There were plenty of people (and this is a town of just a few thousand) in there but I was able to get right in and out. I hope the returns tonight show what the mood seemed to be at the town office.

When I voted this morning I had to wait in line. That's the first time I've ever had to wait in line in this precinct (20 years). Regardless of how people were voting (I hope they agreed with my choices) it was refreshing to see a big turn out.
