Hope everyone is safe. A bad situation developed last night in northern California. Our prayers are with you all. Stay healthy, and out of harms way.

I think this is a good example of how quickly a calm situation can turn really bad, really fast. Take care brothers and sisters on the west side. "When it happened, folks thought a plane had crashed". Looks like a lot of carnage on the tv. If you are in that area, know our hearts go out to you!

This scares me. Weeks ago I smelled gas out by our street, I called the utility, they sent a guy out who I don't even think left his truck.

Guess who I had back out today? They say they'll fix it next week.

It isn't a heavy gas smell, you just get wifts of it, but I don't want to take chances.

Chris - The trucks they normally send out are called sniffer trucks. They have equipment on them and in them to detect gas leaks so the guy probably didn't get out of it. I don't know that your gas company uses them but that's what they use around here. He can pinpoint the leak if it is at or near the road. If it's in some place like a back yard he can get pretty close then use a portable device.

We had a similar gizmo we used to check manholes before we popped the cover on them. You'd be surprised how many gas stations have leaking fuel tanks.

The latest I read said 4 confirmed killed, 52 injured and one looter arrested.

I just heard on the News this morning, That a couple of residents had reported smelling gas and the gas company came out but didnt do anything, the son of one of the victims said his mother had told him she had smelled gas in the neighborhood,
