All I can say is it's about time. Highpoint is coming out with a .45 carbine later this year.

I shot one of the Beretta carbines in .45 about a year ago at the local ammo dump. Pretty nice but cost three times as much as the Hi-point.
I have the Highpoint in .9mm and I have not problems with it. Had it to the range last week and it's pretty accurate.

This is their fourth delay in release. The previous date was in May 2010 and they are just telling us not to hold our breath because it will not be out this month.
List price and what you pay for a Hi Point are seperate beasts. This is one shooter that is totally a supply and demand proposition. The only thing they make that is consistantly list price or cheaper is their .40 pistol.
They have a strange production setup using the same line to produce pistols and carbines. They can not produce both at the same time. If they are making carbines pistols are selling high. If they are making pistols the price of carbines goes through the roof.
Then they offer package deals that drive the price up even farther. The gun will list for $150, then add the case for $50 and a cheap red dot for $75 or a $20 lazer for $100 and the price is closer to $300 and never their list.
Crazy production process!

Speaking of .45 carbines....I thought y'all mike like to see this.
A friend of mine has a Berretta Storm. He loves it, but wanted more than the 8 round capacity.......so he made his own mag. It now has a 15 round capacity.LOL:clap:

The short answer, is that he welded two stock one's together.
(I can get the details, if you want. I don't know how involved it got, as far as cutting and fitting goes.)
No, that's cool. I just didn't know how he built one. Putting two together is a novel idea.

I didn't look, to see if the follower goes down past the weld, now. I would think that would be the hard part, if it does. LOL:innocent:
Will the new Hi-Point .45 carbine take 1911 mags? That would be cool if it did. I have had my eye on a Kel Tec SUB 2000 set up for Glock mags. For all the traveling I do in the US it would be nice to have along.
I wouldn't mind a .45 carbine. I have lots of .45 ball in storage and only one handgun that shoots it.

HIPoint always uses their own mags. $39.95 a pop when 1911 mags are $5 each. You can mod the 1911 mags but they will not fit a 1911 after modded so you will not have interchangable mags.
That is one of the huge gripes on the HiPoint products. They use a single stack mag that fits nothing else in any caliber.
That's a shame. It would be a selling point for me if it used 1911 mags. That's what I like about the SUB 2000, mag interchangeability with my Glock. It's hard to be a folding carbine loaded with a happy stick that fits in a daypack.
You can pick up the HighPoint 10 round mags for about $12.00. I don't recommend the high capacity mags. They are not OEM and don't work well in my opinion. I have two and one just won't feed at all. The other one does okay. I've never had a problem with the 10 round OEM mag.
As for price, pick up a Glock 33 rounder and see what you pay for that. Factory OEM is right at $40 as well.
That's kind of the point with the Glock mags for a carbine, I wouldn't have to buy them especially if I carried the G19 I could use all of my G17 mags and the two happy sticks for the carbine.
I like that Marlin .45 camp carbine in the other thread for the fact that it uses the 1911 magazines. I have a load of them and they are cheap.
It's kind of a pain when you buy a new rifle that you are only halfway done spending money until you get enough mags to make it worth owning. IMO it is a big mistake for a company like Hi Point to make a gun with proprietary magazines. The Glock magazines seem to be becoming an industry standard in pistol caliber carbines. There are several different models out there that use them.

I own the C-9 pistol and just bought the 4595TS its a .45 cal and a sweet little rifle for the money , I have never had a problem with them , not one ! I think the 1911 mags can be made to work with them , Youtube has some videos of guys modifying them ! The Hi-point mags cost around 12 bucks a pc. ! I have bought 2 extra for both of mine !

Not familiar with the High Point products. I sure wish Marlin would bring back the Camp Carbine in .45 ACP! I have been eyeballing them on GunBroker but man are they pricey! I've always been a fan of Handgun/Carbine combos that use the same ammo or magazines. I have a Ruger PC9 that uses the same mags as my Ruger P89, and it's a great setup. Have a Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag that complements my revolvers in that caliber. I would really like one of those .45 ACP Marlins to go with the 1911.

And they wear out quick. You can tell then they are worn out because when the sear spring gets weak they go full auto!
It is fast full-auto too, I mean "sounds like tearing canvas" fast, espically in 9mm. You pull the trigger and the people at the range stand up and look around wondering if what they heard was full auto or a squirrel farting.

Just be sure to replace the worn components ASAP. You don't need any 3 letter agencies putting you in the silver bracelets over a worn part.

High Point prices are going up but you can still buy the mags for it for $18.00 EACH !! i HAVE A 4595TS and a C-9 and they are great guns for the money , I have well over 1500 rounds theu each of them with not one single defect !

Why yes it is! You must repair it immidiately when the problem becomes apparent.
I replaced that spring immidiately, and saved it for reference against all other springs so that I will not install another bad spring!
BTW, does anyone know if the 15 shot 9mm magazine for the 995 carbine will fit the C9 pistol?

Heh-heh-heh! That's the chief complaint some of my shooting acquaintances have about my two Savage heavy-barreled bolt-action rifles. My question is always, "Do you get a firearm to look at, or to shoot?" That generally, but not always, quiets 'em down a spell.
Ugly I can handle, as long as it goes "BANG!" every time I want it to, and generally hits what I'm pointing it at.

That could also transfer to Enfield lovers, Mauser lovers, '03 lovers, and heaven forbid we state the fact, the lovers of all those butt-ugly black rifles so popular today! Face it folks, there is nothing uglier than an AK or an AR with all that crap hanging from the rails.
