More Falsified Scientific Data???

We've had the recent revelation of the falsified data in the global warming debate. That lie has cost people everywhere untold amounts of money in an effort to "comply". There have been other studies based on junk science or false data that have killed people. Rachel Carson's book Silent Spring being among them. The ultimate plan is personal gain for the guys in the "big chairs". We in southern Louisiana have had one of the coldest winters in relatively recent history. So much for "Global Warminmg", Mr. A.G. If yall haven't noticed, at first the whole issue was refered to as "Global Warming" but after several recent studies that indicate a cooling trend of the earth their terminology has been twisted into "Climate Change". With this transition in word play, no matter what happens, these "Lords of Fantasy" and "Spin Doctors" are right. Now they can justify forcing their will on the unsuspecting and fattening their pockets no matter what the climate does. It is also sickening to see that one of the most coveted awards in the world, "The Noble Peace Prize", is now given away to person's who lie for a living for the purpose of profit. By witness of the last two recipients of this award, this honor has now been minimized to the point of being a joke IMO. Anyone receiving this award at this point should be insulted for being put into a league of criminals and liars. Back on topic: Last week my son's school made it manditory to get the swine flu shot while in class. His fellow students will be shedding live virus for 72 hrs after getting it so I kept him home for the week to avoid subjecting my son to an vaccine that has not been thoroughly tested. His school work was done at home during this time. Yall take care.

I've never believed that story. It always struck me as funny that all of a sudden, in the last 10 years or so children developed chronic illnesses due to the combined MMR. That vaccine has been around since I was a child and probably like most of you I had it. I feel for the parents whose children have these illnesses but I have a sneaking feeling that the scientific community used the MMR as a scape goat because thay could find no other reason for an upsurge of these illnesses in the population. Sadly many more children have suffered far worse side effects and even death from the diseases the MMR protects against.
As far as I know, and this is only anecdotal, the only time a child should not receive the combined MMR is if there is Asthma in the family. Usually they are then vaccinated individually. Just my two pennies worth.

I do believe that in some cases the vaccinations do harm. My cousins baby died of SIDS within 24 hours of a set of baby shots and after fighting for years they did receive a statement from the FDA that yes, in a small number of cases they could be harmful but that the benefits outweighed the risks.

I believe people who say their child shut down and became autistic after the vaccinations. What would anyone have to gain by lying about that?

I do still think some are necessary. I don't understand why they have to load them up on babies. DIP/TET for example. Diptheria is from unpasturized milk. Tetanus is not caused by rusty nails but by bacteria that could enter your body via a cut.

So unless your feeding your baby unpasturized milk, why not wait until they are atleast walking to give that shot?

Peoples immune systems are changing. Tons of people are developing problems with things we have been using for decades.

I think caution is in order. One of my friends is having her doctor seperate the shots out so it is not so much all at once.

First - I rest my case.

Diphtheria is caused by a bacteria passed from person to person. Its transmission is much like the common cold. Obviously, much worse. The skin lesions can leave huge holes in the skin.

You are correct about Tetnus. It is a bacteria that can enter the body if someone steps on a rusty nail or cuts themselves on any other object. It is not caused by the nail itself. That's only the medium of introduction.

There are always exceptions to vaccines but by and large they have proven extremely effective and reliable. As to autism, I'm inclined to believe a coincidence or issue of timing since no credible scientific evidence links the to. Hence the retraction. If you think about it, children are most likely to receive vaccines and children are most likely to be diagnosed with autism. So, if a child is vaccinated and subsequently diagnosed with autism the vaccine had to be the cause, right? Forget the fact that the child would have been diagnosed with the same illness whether they had been vaccinated or not. Let's link the two as cause and effect.

Most of you aren't old enough to remember what life was like pre-vaccinations. You haven't lived in a world where quarantines existed in several houses on a block. Where you WOULD go to jail if you violated the quarantine. Where kids simply died. Period.

I donated a country school registry to the local museum when I lived in Illinois. It was for the period 1915-1920. It was interesting to read entries such as "Released from school to help with farm." It was sad to see how many were listed as "Deceased". If a school mandates H1N1 shots, I say Bravo. We do not need to see illness become rampant again because of unnecessary fears.

Tetanus can be gotten from working with your bare hands in soil or dirt if you have an open cut.

There are some people who legitimately cannot get vaccines because of allergies or because they're too young, but those people can still get the disease. If you do not get vaccinated you are putting those people at risk.

And sometimes vaccines do not take, and people think they are immune and aren't, so those people are at risk too.

It is a community health issue, not an individual health issue.

If my child had friends who were unvaccinated, I would not allow them to be friends. Especially if we had babies in the house. I would explain to the child's parents that I will not put my baby at risk of death because a former playboy playmate is their scientific gospel.

The initial culprit of the autism crazies was a mercury based preservative, which was switched out of most vaccines in 2003, yet autism is still on the rise.

Both boys and girls get shots, yet autism affects more boys than girls.

Everyone gets vaccines, but everyone does not have an equal chance of autism. The chance of your child having autism is exponentially higher if a family member has it, especially a sibling of that cihld.

Finally, the definition of autism has changed. A big reason why it seems to be "on the rise" is that they've widened the definition of it, and that family doctors are becoming better at spotting and diagnosing it. Children who may have been diagnosed as merely slow, or with ADHD, may be diagnosed as somewhere on the autism spectrum instead.

Forest Gump, for instance, was obviously autistic. But he would never have been diagnosed as such back growing up in the 50s, nor did they even mention it in the movie, which was made in the 90s.

This is the very reason I nor my children will be SHEEPLE. Not until this "vaccine" is more tested and proven. My wife is a nurse and I have a few doctor friends who I'm very close with. These doctors without out fail will tell you that they nor their children will be getting the N1H1 vaccine because of it's limited testing and unknown reprocussions. Let's get this straight. I did not say that my family would "never" be vaccinated. The doctors I'm speaking of and I agree that our families WILL be vaccinated after more intense research is conducted. This may take a couple of years. I do not have the resourse to show you but I was also told by one of these doctors that in a recent medical professional pole, most doctors don't trust it. If you child's school was giving shots then you need to understand that was the virus protein. They were not shedding live viruses. It's not possible. There's no virus to shed. The nasal spray uses weakened live viruses but not the shot.

There's a series of 6 videos on YouTube filmed by Fox News regarding Global Warming, the current leak of emails and data massaging at the University of Anglia, the meaning of the the Copenhagen summits and the way Obama may try to circumvent Congress by using the EPA's Clean Air Act to enforce Cap and Trade. Cap and Trade strikes me as fuzzy money laundering. And someone is going to get very very rich with this while the estimated tax burden per household is between $800 and $3500 (according to the report).

Even if you just watch the first section of the 6 segments, it's enough to get you concerned about a 'global takeover' of the US economy and way of life.

I've been following the McIntyre and McKitrick arguments for years now. While I can't follow all of the math, I've had enough biostatistics courses to see where data is likely to be fudged. It also says a lot when a researcher (Mann) "can't find" his original data for repeatability of scientific method...if the results using the same data can or can't be replicated by others...tough to do if the data is 'unavailable'.

In a later segment Mann says that his 'fudge factor' was not applied to the final data used in his study. The FoxNews story came out before the emails and data dump had been analyzed. According to new entries on the feeds, the actual math for the 'fudge factor' calculations may not have been applied but another couple of correction factors were used, which removed the Medieval warming trend and made the tree ring data (temp going down) match the actual temp data (going up).

Like McIntyre says, I believe there is a Global Warming issue, but it is no where as "settled" as some of the scientists would lead you to believe.

I dislike bad science.

I'm also torn on the subject of H1N1 vaccination. I haven't done enough research on it to know, for instance, what the occurrence of hospitalization is for 'at risk' children (kids with other health concerns) as opposed to "healthy" children. I'm also not so sure about the "you are allergic to the vaccine so I have to take it so YOU don't get sick" thing...I have to think on that one. It's not as simple as telling me I have to eat my PBJ at a different lunch table. I do know that recently Massachusetts changed portions of the quarantine laws because of H1N1 and the language used is very 'slippery slope'.

I agree with that. If you are allergic to eggs, for example, then ask for a vaccine made using the cell culture process. It's egg free. But I get your point.

Everyone has a right to make a decision they believe is right for them. I really have no trouble with that. But when false statements are made where others can see them as fact then that has to be challenged. We all need to stand up against that. If someone has studied the process (whatever the process is) and decides, I've read the facts on Climate Change or H1N1 or Tibetan Sand Fleas and my decision is..... Good for you.

Nor was it rushed. They actually had more time to make the vaccine than they typically do for a flu vaccine. The only reason it seems rushed is because the vaccine makers had to divide their resources between swine flu and regular flu and the government, in their immense stupidity of central planning, made a bunch of errors as far as how much of each to make, how to distribute it, etc.

Secondly, it isn't a money maker. It costs you nothing. No one is out to scam you with it. H1N1 is free. Seasonal flu will cost you money, but H1N1 is free (well, free in the sense that the government is funding it).

There is nothing that needs to be tested. It isn't new science. Rick is wrong, it hasn't been given millions of times, it has been given hundreds of millions of times, the H1N1 vaccine, the generic flu vaccine has been given billions of times. Billion, with a B.

The H1N1 vaccine is as different from the flu vaccine as a blue corn tortilla chip is from a yellow corn tortilla chip. If you know how to make a yellow corn tortilla chip you know how to make a blue corn tortilla chip, it is the same exact process, you just use a different color corn meal.

No scientist had to go out and discover how to make an H1N1 vaccine, they didn't have to develope a recipe. They just used their standard recipe and started with a different strain of flu to begin with, like they do a couple times a year every year.

I you don't want to take the H1N1 vaccine because of some personal reason, religious issue, intense distrust of modern medicine, whatever. That is your decision, but don't claim it is untested or some unknown thing. The vaccine is about as routine and tested as something can be.

Also, by getting it, or getting it for your kids, you're helping them in the future. Many elderly people are not that affected by H1N1. The reason is, decades ago, there was another swine flu and many of them got and so they have partial immunity to this version. If in 50 years when your kids are older if it happens again they'll be partially protected if they get this vaccine now which could save their life then.

This is why, despite the flu mutating each year, you get it less as an adult and if you do get it it is often shorter, the 24 hour flu, because you have partial immunity thanks to having gotten a version of it in childhood that laid you up for a week. Every different flu shot (or flu infection) you get gives you partial immunity to other forms of the flu, the effect of which is cumulative over a lifetime. Same is true for colds and other common viruses as well.

I'm agreeing with everyone here about the global warming issue. I believe there has been some strong arm tactics to silence scientists who oppose the theory that it is human CO2 that is causing climate change. To the frustration of A.G. many of these scientists testified before congress as he also did. It appears to me that it is a political issue that could still result in a policed carbon tax. If this occurs, then we would see this tax money leaving the U.S. and going to an outside world wide governing body. I don't like the cost, precedence or the sovereignty issues involved.

DDT use was our first lesson about pesticides and we learned it's value in stopping insect born diseases, the insects rapidly developing immunity and it's environmental consequences. Wild claims are made on both sides of the issue. I recall seeing no more flocks of crows flying across tree tops, garden spiders and praying mantises completely disappearing from the tall grasses. I recall my father using it regularly in a cloud of dust and developing some pleurisy. As years went by, he recovered just fine and we all learned the lesson of being cautious. I view today's more powerful pesticides as I do a chain saw. They are a necessary dangerous tool and to use or consume them with sufficient knowledge and respect is prudent. Although "Silent Spring" was not a scientific work, I think that from today's viewpoint, "prudent" was the tone of her advise when she wrote in the book, "Spray as little as you possibly can" rather than "Spray to the limit of your capacity."

Flu vaccinations are an emotional topic about benefits vs. risks of the actual vaccination and the freedom of choice vs. government mandates for your own good. I wouldn't be a bit afraid for someone else to be vaccinated against the flu. If you feel that the vaccination is working for you, then you should have no fear, from me, if I were to choose not to receive the vaccine. Like everyone else here, I find myself downloading and reading articles to reinforce my prejudices and opinions. The truth usually falls in the middle somewhere. My opinion is freedom of choice, even if a person's science is based on which direction the fuzzy worm turns. I think there are enough questions out there to allow people to have that right.

Has anyone ever done the math, using easily found quantity measurements online, showing what a Human Being contributes in CO2 just by breathing? Start by figuring 1 person contributes about 1kg of CO2 per day and work from there.

And interestingly, the EPA does not consider 'natural' sources of CO2 as part of their measurements, stating that naturally occurring respired CO2 is part of a balanced global system called Carbon Neutrality. Despite the fact that there are at least 6 times as many humans now than there were in 1900. (1.6 billion people in 1900, Over 6.6 billion in 2008.) Not to mention the animals we raise (cattle not only produce CO2 when they breathe, they also produce about the same amount of methane, a more serious GHG than CO2). What I haven't found is the total of ingested carbon compared to the total of respired carbon. I'm sure there's a study around somewhere.

I didn't get the H1N1 cuz every flu shot I've ever had has knocked me on my *** with the flu for several days. Avoidance therapy works. Haven't had a flu shot in years. Haven't been sick either.
