Thread: I'm back...

    Default I'm back...

Been a while since I haunted the boards.
Last year I lost my job of 23 years and had to search for a new one. All good, but had to take a pay cut.
Also started getting more involved with firearms and shooting. Got my LTC A along with the wife and we joined a local Rod and Gun club.

    Hope everybody is surviving ok.
We're getting some pretty cold weather here in the N.E. tonight and tomorrow.
The wind is howling and it's going to be -30 deg. with the wind chill.
Think I'll just hang out by the wood stove.

Aye, evidently, ya'll have been having it worse this year than we in the Rockies.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

Just checked and it's 3 deg. and the wind is whipping up out there.
Thankful for my wood stove and having plenty of cord wood left.

Weird thing is, it's going to be raining and in the 40s Tuesday.
Hope it don't cause and wicked tornado activity in the Midwest.

Dang, sorry to hear about your job. Glad you're toasty with a wood stove. Strangely enough, it's warm here in Alaska.

Welcome back. Cold here in NE Pennsylvania too, -4 this morning but not as windy a yesterday and last night, the winds were blowing at a steady 20-25+ mph and gusting to 40 mph and the wind chills were -15 and less with the wind gust. We are supposed to get the snow starting tonight into tomorrow and depending if the storm sticks to the right or left we are supposed to either get more snow, or freezing rain, or lots or rain.

Just had a bunch of crows here stop by for some old sourdough bread I tossed out back. They looked like great big black chickens with their feathers all fluffed out. Not even seeing chickadees today at the feeder so you know it must be cold. Nothing stops them.

It was -12 here this morning when I got up. Just about -8 now and pretty windy (always is this side of the lake.)
Glad I brought in enough wood yesterday. Gonna sit here by the fire with the cat.

LLT are you outside the freezing ice zone for early Tuesday morning? Looks like I'm gonna get socked for a couple hours before it turns to rain.

Good to see you back! Sorry about the job, glad you found another one albeit with a pay cut. As long as you're in the game, the cut can translate into a raise or at least another opportunity elsewhere.

0F here, feels like -10 with the wind. Prediction is 50+ on Tuesday. Go figure.
