Hurricane Celia blew through south Texas 39 year ago today. My family evacuated because we knew she was going to be a bad storm. We were lucky because we had a house to come home to. Just a few miles away the destruction was unbelievable. We were without power for a week. No running water. The Red Cross brought in water for us. We were lucky because we had a gas stove so my mom could cook. I think that is one of the reasons I stock up so much when there is any possibility of bad weather. I also stock up for when the SHTF. I don't want to be caught without food or water or any other basic necessity.
