    Default Humbling but true

I ran across this and was humbled by it enough that I wanted to share it. In these economic times, it is easy to forget what is truely important.

Very nice. Kind of reminds us that the best things in life are free.

Pal you know that is SOOO True! When I was homeless, I was poor, I think I might have "made" $100 in a years time. But I was free in a way I had never been before,I had everything I needed and some things that were for me luxuries. Yeah I looked scary and dirty, but inside I was truly happy. Probably happier than any other time in my life, except maybe for when I was a Kid. If I hadn't met my better half there on the streets, and felt like it was the best for her to have a "Normal" life I would've stayed right there. I Don't want to offend anyone with what I say next, Just understand this is my belief- you believe whatever you want. A POSITIVE belief is absolutely necessary in a long term survival situation, this has been proven time after time.
He provided everything I needed, I didn't do anything special to get what I needed, But even among the Homeless I was considered "Rich"-with no money. Funny huh? I even made less money than most of them, yet some even envied me. I had All the "hot Chocolate" He could provide. As long as I believed this everything was rosy, peachy, and Keen. I think the video is just trying to say the same thing about day-to-day survival. Less stress means a reduced risk of heart attack etc. I think adopting some form of this "positivity", is one of the things that carry us through some tough times, that we would not otherwise be able to cope with. I think many would be surprised at what they could live WITHOUT in their lives and even how much stress would lift from them. A positive attitude (In my belief) can even prolong life.

Thailand is often called the Land of Smiles. When I first came to Thailand I could not understand how people who had basically nothing could be so happy. Now that I have been here awhile I understand it is because people do not really need all the things I used to think you needed to have to have a good life. The people here believe if you have family, friends, food, shelter, good health and something to believe in you don't need anything else to be happy. I made what is considered good money back in America, but yet I ended up with a divorce, high blood pressure, a big drinking problem and a tax bill I will never pay off. There is much to be said for a simple life.

Pal, that was a great post! My parents taught me a lesson like that when I was growing up, and I've done my best to pass it on to my kids.

I have a cup of coffee on my desk right now. It's in my favorite cup - almost 20 years old, a bit chipped, and it has just one word printed on it - "DAD".

BTW - did you notice that the last hot chocolate drinker just happened to be a squirrel?

Those pesky things are all over

I am glad this is being recieved so well. In our daily lives, sometimes we just seem to forget the important stuff.
My fondest memories are just sitting back in a recliner with my then new born daughter (27 years ago) resting on my chest, feeling her breathe on my neck and heart beating against my chest. Funny how something that simple sticks with ya for so long.

    Yep, you're right.

Before my daughter turned 2, she fell in love with Fozzie Bear from Sesame Street. One night, I left the office late but just in time to stop in at Toys-R-Us to find her a Fozzie. Of course, she was asleep when I got home, and I just snuck Fozzie into bed with her, kissed her forehead, and smiled.

The next morning, I awoke to a stuffed bear being pushed against my face. With one eye opened, I said "Hi Katie," and she asked "Dis mine?" I asked, "where did you find him?" and she said "sweeping in my bed........"

My little girl, now 22, just brought me a cup of coffee - and I didn't even ask.
