In military terms, capitulation means to surrender. Market capitulation refers to a surrender... of your money!
That's when stock prices fall so low, investors sell their stocks at any price.

From CNN 7:30 EST 10/24/08----Both the Dow and S&P500 futures have hit their "lock limit" - meaning that regulations will not allow traders to sell the futures off more. They can trade above those levels, but cannot trade below those levels. It's similar to the New York Stock Exchange's circuit breakers - which were put into place to keep panic selling from destroying the stock market.

It's across-the-board global liquidation of stocks," said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at Jefferies & Co

Gold, often a sign of fear, was down $22.20 to $692.50 as traders pulled out of all markets, including solid assets.

Today might be the day where everybody throws in the towel," said Peter Cardillo, chief market economist for Avalon Partners. "People are saying 'I've had it, I can't take it anymore, I'm selling everything.'"

With fair value calculated into the futures, the Dow is expected to fall about 450 points at the 9:30 a.m. open

    Things are not looking up...........

While today, and coming days will likely be turbulent.....it reminds me of the lyrics of a song.

When you feel sad, or under a curse

Your life is bad, your prospects are worse

    Your wife is crying, sighing...

And your olive tree is dying,

Temples are graying, and teeth are decaying

    And creditors weighing your purse...

    Your mood and your robe

    Are both a deep blue

    You'd bet that Job

    Had nothin' on you...

Don't forget that when you go to

    Heaven you'll be blessed..

Yes, it's all for the best...

Some men are born to live at ease, doing what they please,

Richer than the bees are in honey

Never growing old, never feeling cold

Pulling pots of gold from thin air

The best in every town, best at shaking down

Best at making mountains of money

They can't take it with them, but what do they care?

They get the center of the meat, cushions on the seat

Houses on the street where it's sunny..

Summers at the sea, winters warm and free

All of this and we get the rest...

But who is the land for? The sun and the sand for?

You guessed! It's all for the best...

how is it you live in the middle of alaska and yet you have vanilla coffee flavoring while i'm drinking instant nescafe with evaporated milk?

wait, don't tell me: shrewdly diversified portfolio? i bet you're invested in venison too...

nope, all 3 are very distinct tastes, caribou's the best in my books, deer is actually way down the list.

Canid's right in that they all qualify as "venison" but to me, whitetail has the "gamiest" taste, caribou is much more subtle flavor, moose is a heavier meat, in a way closest to beef...

i see what you mean about moose/beef but for my money the best red meat might have to be bison. i feel bison is what beef hopes one day to be. i love that stuff.
