Thumbs down Read it and weap

I just got the pre - issue letter from the IRS concerning our "All American" economic stumbleness check (explains what it is all about) which we are to receive this month. After reading that letter, I found out that the "All American" economic stumbleness check only amounts to a refund of the tax liability for the 2007 income tax return, with less tax liability than $1200.00. (i.e. the gooberment is refunding the taxes you paid last year). This is "not nice" if you're expecting a full $1200.00 in that check.

Now, for you and your spouse to get the $1200.00, if your tax liability met or exceeded $1200.00, (i.e. you paid that amount or better) than you will get the $600.00 per person... any children born after Dec. 31 1990 you get an additional $300.00 for each.

So, I guess we'll take the "refund" and buy beer.

yeah.. well, I have been too busy to pay attention to the news lately, so this came as a shock. Oh well, I am almost divorced from the American daydream anyway, so I'll just chalk it up to 'Go figure'.

Wait a minute. If you received $1, that's $1 more than you had. Right? That's a personal plus in my book.

What I meant by that is that my heart is in the wilderness. I am out there in my mind all the time even if I have to stay home.
