I didn't read that part.

I use it as a resource and filter out what I want. For example:

Food Pack

200 lbs/person, hard winter wheat 50 lbs/person,rice 50 lbs/person, beans 10 lbs/person, honey 25 lbs/person, powdered milk(non-instant type) 6-months supply normal canned goods and bottled fruit

4-#10 can/person dehydrated fruits and vegetables (use for variety-not for bulk) Salt, pepper, spices Oil (keep refrigerated)

1- portable water washer filtering kit (from american water purification co. 1990 @olivera rd. Concord, ca 94520)
1/person water straw individual filter straw (from american water@purif.)
1-pack scientific filter paper (cone) (12v diameter papers)
1/person 10 gallon glass distilled water bottle. (date and seal with stopper and tape. Wrap on bottom and sides with dense foam carpet pad to protect against earthquake or jarring.
1-bottle halazone tabs. Or regular chlorine bleach for water purification.
Power Pack

1-mobile, self-contained 3kw 120/220v generator (diesel or gasoline/gas) with one month fuel supply in portable tanks

My list is pretty much the same as yours. I go island camping / fishing for a week and it does take several trips to load and unload the gear but, when your camp is set it is comfortable. IMO this is being prepared. Thanks for sharing your list.

I think a lot of the heavy stuff could be eliminated and procured in the wild. You could rough it and still be comfy, I think. i.e. wild roots, veggies, pine/ spruce bows and leaves/ bark for flooring/ roof.

I wanna be able to go out with nothing but a knife and survive well for a week or two. That'd be fun.

That takes a bit of learning.knowledge too. I do understand where you are coming from though, I would like to be able to go out with nothing and live for a year. That's a goal I strive for knowing I will probably fall way short of. But If I strive for that, then maybe a month with just a knife might one day be possible.

Exactly poco, it's all about the learning and experience of it all that keeps me comin back. If I learned everything I wouldn't want to do it anymore.

I'm sure I could "survive" for a week or two right now in the wild with nothin but a knife, but I'd be real uncomfortable, extremely hungry and dehydrated with an upset stomach to boot.

These are good lists though. Just eliminate/ substitute one item each time out and eventually you're there.

Makes me wanna go campin just thinkin about it.
