Someone brought those up on here some time ago. Nater mayber? Not for toilet paper but just as paper towels. I have used those things everywhere. They work crazy good. Great reminder! Good to see you back!!!!

Thanks! Looks like a great product. Especially if you are subtly trying to walk out of camp to see a man about a horse.

Neat idea. But it is so humid here in Alabama as soon as you opened the box they would all start expanding.

I have used them in the past (towel, not TP) and they work great. Since most of my camping is either car (truck) or canoe I'll splurge for the Charmin. A tube of them in the day pack is probably a good idea though.

I love those things! I use them every time I go hiking or camping and they're stashed in my survival kits, too. Obviously they're great as towels but I think they'd work great in a water filter or as a pre-filter. So far I've not tried them as TP but they should work well. Be advised though that they're a fairly loose weave.

Be sure to use them as a water filter before TP.

That is a great idea. I have seen them on the shelf, but never tried them out. I was worried they wouldn't be very strong, but it looks like they are. One thing about toilet paper is the size. These would be great for long term storage. For back country stuff, I am a strong believer in baby wipes. I learned that in Iraq. These might be a good substitute.

    Just a thought.....
As I was contemplating the world in general in my Office....
It occurred to me to check this type of TP for ability to decompose......
Baby wipes, kotex, rubbers, disposable diapers and some types of TP, are septic tank killers.

According to the vid (yeah, I know you can say anything on a vid) they are biodegradable. It sounded as if that was one of the concerns of the youtube guy.

Just so you know, they fit perfectly in those M&M containers. (There's a win/win). Lightweight. Easy to carry.

I like a better definition pf biodegradable......how long and when....
    Wet wipes etc.

s it ok to flush baby wipes or wet wipes down the toilet?

This article explains why you should never flush fabrics or any kind into the toilet, including disposable wipes, wet wipes, baby wipes, sanitary napkins, nor dryer sheets.

We include recommended methods for disposing of these products.

This article series includes a list of chemicals, objects, and trash items that it would be should NEVER be flushed down a toilet Cat litter, dryer sheets, disposable diapers, drugs, coffee grounds, & lots of other stuff should not go into the septic tank nor down a drain into a public sewer.<quote

Ordinary toilet tissue does not appear harm ordinary septic tank and drainfield systems

In a conventional septic system using a tank and drainfield, ordinary toilet tissue does not harm the septic system. The tissue remains in the septic tank, kept from flowing into the drainfield by septic tank baffles.

Actually lower-cost toilet tissues such as the Rite-Aid bathroom tissue shown at left perform better (break down faster and more completely) in septic tanks than some plush extra soft brands containing softening additives.

Eventually (we think) toilet tissue breaks down in the septic tank and is not a solid bulk problem at normal levels of usage.

Some recommended TP will almost dissolve when wet.

Septic systems are touchy, problems are stinky and expensive....
    So yeah home use.
Out in the bush (cat hole...)how long for you figure it will last.......

If you swallowed them after a meal then all you would have to do later is just feel around until you grabbed a corner and pull it out, thus wiping from the inside out.

Or if you expected a longer than normal hike you could simply insert one and it would create a plug as it swelled. Then when you finished your hike you could snag it on some brush and run!

Yep, all sorts of possibilities on these little pellets.

I looked for some locally so as to not have to pay shipping....to try out.

I guess it would have been cheaper to order the on line....
DW came along and came home with a blouse, shoes, and candy....$36 bucks.

AND I still haven't scored any to play with.

Alan, you know there is something seriously wrong with you, right? I mean, I can see the whole grabbing the corner thing but running is just wrong.
