Default One of my guys was robbed

One of the guys was talking me today about his pay stub, bear in mind I haven't really seen a pay stub in over 25 years. Anyhoo he said he grossed over $1250 and took home a little less than $750. I told him "not to worry" at least he'll get a nice refund. He said he doesn't get a refund since his kids have been raised. I reckon it's the price we pay for living in modern society.

Also keeping politics out of it -- income taxes are unfairly levied.

Now, to add weight to my assertion, my lovely wife and I routinely receive rather substantial tax refunds (this year, combining State and Federal -- better than $5K). Speaking only for us, we would ENTHUSIASTICALLY give up those refunds if it meant that the tax liability was more fairly distributed among the population.

    How about y'all?

    Regards,

there are also matching contributions from me as a employer. I'm not sure on the particulars but if I need to know one quick phone call and there will be a breakdown available for me.

I'm thinking those "matching contributions" are either SOCIAL SECURITY payments which are required by law, or 401-k contributions which are determined by company policies. Neither truly addresses the tax burden levied on the individual.

anything taken from a individual by the "blank blank" is some form of taxation in my opinion.

And don't assume it's all taxes (although it might be). He could have part of his wages being garnished for child payments, fines, civil claims, etc.

I'm involved in the paperwork side of the business enough to know there are no garnishments or such. I'm not involved enough to know exact percentages and particulars.

I'm having a few PBRs LOL.

And that would be -- Pabst Blue Ribbons? [Heh-heh-heh!]

In my younger years our bowling team was the "PBR Bunch". Yep, that stood for the above-listed beer! At the start of the season we were the bottom-ceded team. Yet -- somehow -- we managed to finish in second-place! Anybody wanna guess how we did it???

Paid off the judges? Killed the competition? Hid the other guy's balls (I don't want to know the answer to that one)? Cheated? Showed up when the alley was closed? Am I getting warm?

I've recently started on my second million. I realized I was never going to make the first so I just quit that nonsense and started on the second. +1 on not quitting.

I find it odd that we, as a people tolerate the taxes we pay. We formed this country by a revolution that was torch off by , what was approximately, a 3% sales tax to the crown of England.

Now we are fine paying 40%

A flat sales tax by states and a flat sales tax by the fed would be fair and equal. Everybody buys things and if you save money, you aren't taxed on it until you spend it. I know, I'm a genius.

fair and equal cannot be manipulated as easily as the current system. Favours and side deals are more difficult with a fair and equal system. Robbery would not be legal with a fair and equal system.
