Been there. I now have a cat free closet inside of a cat free room. Its the only room in the house that is cat free and I am the only person allowed to open the closet door. So far no further damage to leather goods.
Its pretty messed up, but they can differentiate cheap leather from nice leather and they prefer the good stuff.
Its the closet inside the guest room. We like to keep the room cat free so that any guests who might have slight cat allergies have somewhat of a break. Guests arent allowed to use the closet inside, my rules.
The wife knows that if anything were to get damaged I would replace it immediately even if we didnt have the cash on hand (credit card) and that thought drives her nuts. That and the 12 gauge by the bed is a constant reminder that 5 cats is just as good as 6 in my book...
While it does help to perpetuate the food chain and give an interesting creature a well deserved meal, it does nothing to help my sense of justice and retribution. Luckily since cats have yet to evolve to the point where they have opposable thumbs, the shotgun has not been needed.
Welcome to the forum.
As all have agreed, the dog is awesome. Way more awesome than the 5 pound mutt laying in my office right now.
I do believe that you have found a place that is completly free of "mall ninjas" and zombies. You are, however, quite likely to encounter two remarkably similar characters around here - crusty old curmudgeons and wide-eyed, into-the-wilderness-with-nothing-but-a-knife-and-some-tic-tacs newbies. If you encounter them, be very careful. They bite.

Maybe these aren't what you are looking for, but they are nylon and have cargo pockets, and a removable belt with belt loops.

Anyways, most nylon pants now are made of supplex. Basically it is a nicer feeling (more cotton feeling) nylon with some spf protection. There are a lot of companies that make them.

Well, Ive decided to increase my self torture. While I still cant walk right because of this damn cast and certainly cant go hiking or camping, I ordered virtually all new gear this week. My bonus came through and before it could get spent on bills I bought pretty much every piece of gear Ive been looking at over the last few months. All so I can sit around and look at it without being able to use it for a few months...which absolutely blows.
Sadie, (old dog), Maggie Mae, (BIL's dog, we adopted), Decon (rescued dog), and of course Gunner, new hunting dog, (pup, 1 yr old), all Black Labs, all say "Hi", to Jackson.
Not being able to walk really sucks, get well soon..................

I hate to admit this but the water dog can't swim. I let him walk out in the water as deep as he wants but my husband teases him. He said he doesn't know what is funnier? A water dog that can't swim or the wife trying to hold him up in the water.

So, is it that he doesnt like to swim and only likes to wade in chest deep, or is it that he actually cannot swim? I know a lot of Newfs and I would say only about half of them swim, the other wade and have no interest in swimming...I dont know that I know of any that couldnt swim if they had too though...that is a bit unique for that breed.
I don't think he likes the water to go over his head. He used to go out in the gulf and the waves did not bother him. Once he was in a pond and stepped off a shelf and the water went over his head unexpectedly. That was the end of him going more than chest deep.

well after weeks of searching through virtually every pair of non cotton cargo pants made by every company I could find online, I bought a few pairs of craghoppers cargo pants (no not the bear grylls pants lol). There customer service has been awesome with answering my questions and they have the most features that I want out of anyone else, even though I didnt get 100% of everything on my pants wish list Im still in this damn cast, but its getting hot out and jeans are to warm...so at least I'll have something to wear once I can actually hike again.
Got new hiking boots too! cant use em
