    Default Tatical archery

Once long ago, people depended on the bow for defense as well as hunting.

    Let the broadheads fly!

Watch too the end where she is shooting on the move. It looks like a deadly ballet.

Mongolian grip is a lot better than Mediterranean or English, apparently.

The mention of such thing makes me quiver uncontrollably.

Should we also ban bows over 50 pounds as being distructive devices?

How about compound bows with those evil wheels?

And sights! No one needs a sight on a bow, those are used only by assasians.

And string silencers. We must do away with string silencers.

Girly can hit the target. How many she's firing off is a moot point to me.

It might seem a moot point but that little girl is getting off 0ne shot a second and hitting man sized targets!

Now if you take five big burley assailants and place them at 50 yards and tell them if they can get to this little girl they can have her, I would think that assailants four and five would be peddling backwards at 25 yards.

It was skill like this that kept the European settlers from conquering the great plains until after the invention of the colt revolver and made the mongol warriors the "scourge of God"!

I have always thought that the bow and arrow is one of the most fearsome weapons ever created. I would much rather be shot with a gun than a bow and arrow!

I’m in awe of the girls ability to hit a target repetitively and on the move. I just never got the bow and arrow gene and am stuck on being able to hit anything period. Last place I’d want to be is on the receiving end.

I didn't hunt deer with a rifle until I was aroung 25 or 26. Just loved bowhunting. Haven't shot my bow in serveral years due to shoulder operations but getting some bales of hay together to set up a target to get back in shape. I use to shoot blackbirds out of the garden and would hit them on a regular basis. Nothing more restful to me than sitting in the woods with my bow and an arrow nocked. (Yes, I did get more meat with my rifle!)

Having never used a bow on a living target before, I wonder what their so-called "take down" power is, compared to guns? The first part of this post seemed to be about bows for defense (though take down power is a concern for hunting too), so I'm curious what you guys think in comparison from bowhunting. Since a bow probably has similar effective range in combat to a pistol or carbine, would any of you trust a bow to drop an assailant as quickly and efficiently as a modern firearm? I imagine a lot of this has to do with what type of arrowhead you use, no?

I have seen deer drop like a rock when hit. I have also seen them run for half a mile before dropping even though hit in a similar spot as those that drop. You can never tell what the effect will be, just like with a gun.

I have always claimed that native people world wide did not develop their famed tracking skills to locate game to shoot, but to recover game they had already shot!

As for defense against people and an arrow's effect, I have always supposed that one of the worst things one could ever imagine seeing would be an arrow sticking out of one of your body parts.

    Just my personal opinion.

Would an arrow go thru body armor?

Not sure about that, but considering that British cops had issues with their body armor (meant for firearms) getting stabbed through until they swapped to stab-proof armor, I'm guessing a broadhead with a powerful enough bow might do it. Not sure what qualifies as "powerful enough" though...
