I was on the phone today with Lan Cay knives. I'm sure many of you know they manufacture the official military M9 bayonet and the M11 EOD Knife as well as some other custom metal work. She told me that the "owner" had passed away and she was going to be closing the company. I didn't press the issue but I assumed from the conversation that the owner was her husband.

My point to this is if anyone is in the Carrolton, KY area and is interested in owning your own business then this might be an opportunity. They have a current customer base as well as a very good reputation. I have no idea what the books look like but thought I would pass along the information. I should also point out I did not quiz her about the business being for sale. She just said they would be closing soon.

If you are interested in acquiring some serious knife making tools then they may also be an avenue for that.
