i completly understand that statement, when i was in my 20's i was somewhat of a hobo myself, although i always had my truck and eventually slide in camper, but always swore i would never own more than what i could put in that camper, well then enter a woman and a skilled trade, although the trade gave me the freedom to go anywhere it also took my freedom by loading me down with lots of tools and crap, and woman, well i aint never been with one that didn't tell me that she wanted security, that translates to stability, i enjoy my life very much but also can resent it sometimes and miss my freedom, so fear of money i can relate to.
opps sorry WE back on topic

Well now, let's go ALL the way w/exceptions:
Crispy Cream donuts, hot off the conveyor belt.
If I'm sinning, it better be good.

I almost always asked for extra glaze when I got glazed ("Honey-Dipped") donuts at Dunkin. The sweeter and gooeyer the better.

When Crispy Cream opened it's first Southeastern New England store in Cranston, R.I. to great fanfare sometime around '01, I was there waiting in an endless line the very first week.

Hot donuts! Smothered in sweet glaze! And I didn't like 'em that much.

That place closed a few years back.

Closed here too...right after we stopped going.
It was our only really bad indulgence and we traded it for extra glasses of wine.
Gotta get most bang for our badness.

I use TVP in my dehydrated soup mixes.
I used protein powders when i used to workout. Hadnt thought of storing them for long term reasons. Good idea. Anybody know how long they store?

It's a powder that you can mix with a beverage of your choice. Most people use milk or water. It comes in a variety of flavors ranging from chocolate, strawberry banana, to mocha cappuccino or peanut butter.

There are different kinds of protein, i.e. whey or soy.

Most protein powder has been dehydrated. So I would estimate if it's kept in a cool location and sealed it could last a year, maybe two.

The whey protien powder that I bought last week has an expiration of January 2012.

I wasn't picking at your post. Just looking at one brand. I'm sure they are different depending on the manufacturer.

Cool. It's that whole humor and typing thing - that, and sometimes I'm slow.

the roman gladiators were called "Barlycrunchers" they ate a diet high in protien and very little meat. "A competetors diet" : the main thing with survival is to have a food source that gives a balanced sustanence. the use of protien is an exelent choice of emergency or survival foods. cheese and summer sausage is another good one.
