Hey everyone,
The Jack Mountain Bushcraft School is about to begin an online semester course on Wilderness Survival and Bushcraft. It will be conducted in a book club/ on-line discussion format. It sounds like its going to be pretty interesting. It starts Nov 21st, and is FREE, here's the link http://jackmtn.ning.com I am in no way affiliated with this group |

Great link, thanks. But I think learning online is no better than looking things up here, but that's just me. In the end you still have to go out and try it either in the back yard or in forests or wherever you live.
Just my opinion, but I did join the site. Beo,

what I like about it, is the discussion will be lead, and focused on specific topics at each meeting.

But they're gonna give you homework... are you kidding me... homework in an online survival class, tell me cheating won't go through the roof, and no one could prove you did or didn't do it.
I like the site for talking with other people on survival, or camping and trekking, but its just another forum to chat. Although I have seen some great craftsmenship on there by several people, top notch work too. Yeah I know we have top notch hand made items here I just like to see what people can do and are capable of doing. Beo,

Who are you going to cheat? Yourself? Knowledge is knowledge. It doesn't matter where you get it from. From a book can be just as good or bad as from someone showing you. Sort of depends on the quality of the information imparted. Then it's all up to you.
Good post, Dogman.

True, some of them just want a certificate that says they passed the Jack Mountain Bushcraft Survival Course, maybe to show their friends or whatever, I dunno.
The discussion, I am sure will be pretty good.

Heck, if that's all they want and don't care about learning, why go to the trouble of taking a class? They could much more easily print something out on their computer to hang on their wall and stare at.
