Billy Cup (Mullet)

Reading the thread on canteen cup cooking, reminded me of the Billy cup, or "broiler" used for most every thing, has a cover.

I first ones I saw were being used by a couple of guys I met at Rendezvous.
They were Civil War re-enactment guys, so the period was a little later than I try to stick with, mountain man era, but I was impressed.

Thinking on adding one to my gear.
So far found a few, but this seems to be the best deal so far.

I use a tin boiler when trekking, hiking or camping.
Here's a link to older gear I use since I go 1750s I love this because I use the heck out of it and its fairly cheap.

He used to come to Prairie du Chien rendezvous, bought a lot of stuff from them over the years.

Have got a ton from them too, several more sites and you can find them cheaper some places. Track of the Wolf is another good site.

Looked on Track of the Wolf, couldn't find one.
They are getting real proud of their wool blankets, though.

Im probaby going to get something like that soon. I like the ones that allow a 32oz water bottle to fit down inside the cup. That would be perfect for me i think.

I picked up a mucket about 10 years ago. I use it for all my outdoor adventures. Very hardy and useful.

Matt, there are a couple of different ones on the market. GSI makes once called the GSI Glacier. It's 18/8 stainless and fits a 1L bottle. You should be able to find them for $10.00 - $11.00.

You might also look at the Olicamp. It's specifically designed to fit the 1Qt. Nalgene. You'll find it in the $5 - $7 range.

hunter63 we have a rondy at the end of april first week of may in woodford wi. My club is yellowstone flint and cap inc. nice grounds and good people one of the biggest rondys around the area. if you google yellowstone flint and cap inc. we have a website and it gives all the info.if you go to photos I'm the guy in the skunk cap.

SK, we'll see how the timing works out.
Been sort of out of it for a couple of years, but did get back out last summer.
P.S> got a big lodge for sale, 10 X 13" wall tent, with awning and all the extras.

I have a couple of muckets that I use for civil war re-enacting and I have one that I keep strapped to my hiking pack. They are great for boiling water in.
