Live from the outback ...
G'day all,
Great to find a forum of this type and sentiment ... seems to be all about business which is refreshing; don't go changing.
I'm from Sydney ... but live in the Blue Mountains wilderness 2 hours west; we frequently drag bodies out of the bush here because of peoples ignorance of the conditions - we get plenty of tourists who think the outback is fun and friendly but as with most wilderness, one wrong turn.
I've spent my life growing up on the fringe of National Parks or in the bush - moved around a lot over the years ( Lived both city and country ) and done plenty of long distance hikes - 2003 walked the Camino from Southern France across the North of Spain on foot ... day 1 was crossing the Pyrenees ... 500 miles later, Santiago.
I guide people on treks in Japan among other things right now and have a great love of the outdoors ... I've lived and spent time working in the extreme outback of the Northern Territory of Australia ( out near Jabiru ) and love the bush and wilderness lifestyle. I am a collector of Military Surplus firearms and moderate the Lee Enfield section of a large forum elsewhere. I shoot 1000 yard Fullbore match rifle regularly ( No scoped optics, just aperture sights off the elbows prone and no support but a sling ) and I have a deep abiding interest in preparation, escape and evasion as well as survival and self sufficiency regardless of a SHTF scenario ... for me it's a mindset and a lifestyle.
I am working on further developing my outdoor skills and look forward to learning from and sharing information with others of like mind.
