    Other than the flatheads anything over five to seven pounds are generally not good table fare. However, a flathead tastes good no matter how big it gets. I have eaten them up to sixty pounds and never had a bad one.

    However, flatheads are predatory fish and could have higher concentrations of toxins than most other fish. It is wise to check the local fishing regs for warnings and you should probably return the bigger fish for breeding purposes. With that said, I have never thrown back a flathead of any size.

    Obviously I never managed to send photo. Sorry. It was 70 lb. catfish, but probably noone believe me without photo.

    i always believe another catfisher. 70 pounds is one heck of fish. how did it fight and what were you baiting with?
