Default Two guns I would like to see...

A revolving .22lr takedown carbine/rifle. More reliable. No clips to mess with. Can leave rounds in the cylinder for extended periods.

Over-under .22lr/.357mag like the m6. Would be able to shoot three caliber types (.22lr, .38spl, .357mag) plus rat shot (not sure on how effective rat shot would be). Take small to medium game if close enough. Could substitute .410/45lc in place of the .38spl/.357mag.

These guns would be awesome to store in a cache imho.

What "survival" guns would you like to see?

I've held one of the circuit judges in .410/45lc. Would like to shoot it, it did feel nice in hand.

I won one...at a Ducks Unlimited dinner raffle.

Cool idea, but does have issues.....Example...You can't shoot the 45 when the .410 shoot straightening tube is installed....needed to have any kind of pattern.
With out as the barrel is rifled tha pattern suffers, but 45 does 6" at 50 ft.

I thinking the .22lr/.22 mag might be a more practical..?

    Hunter63,

What was the range of the .410 with the tube attached? I am thinking in terms of shooting a sitting grouse in a tree or on the ground.

I was shooting about 30 ft, and had a decent 12 in pattern (paper plate).....with the tube in.
Tube out 2" @ the same range with the .45, same plate.

It was interesting that there actually is a double 'plug" as in plugged for ducks....cylinder has 5 chambers...so plugging 2 gives you 3 shots.
I can't imagine anyone duck hunting with one, but gotta believe it's the law...sooooo.

As with any revolving cylinder rifle you must be aware of the gas escaping between the cylinder and the barrel. Hand/forearm placement is critical to avoid injury

Your are correct,, the Circuit Judge has a shield in place for that reason , and that kinda what killed the original colts, and other revolver rifles.

I would like to have a high capacity, semi-automatic handgun in 7.62x25.
I'd also like a lever action rifle, in 7.62x25.

I have an old Tokagypt which is a wide body Tokarev. I've also taken a old M-1 carbine receiver and attached a short chambered .308 (.30 carbine barrel to it which has been chambered in 7.62x25). It uses the carbine mags. really would like it to take the Tokagypt mags but that would entail machining the mag well and the mags are really hard to find. I would really like a wide body handgun that used the CZ 52 lock up so I could use the hot(sub machine gun) loads in it.
Check out www.tnwfirearms.com , they make an AR style pistol caliber carbine. By mixing and matching barrels and bolts along with some chamber reamers you could expand the 3 calibers available 9mm, .40SW, and .45ACP to .22TCM, .357Sig, .40 Corbon and my favorite 38Casull.

I light-weight version of my (currently) favorite gun: The Baikal 12 over .308 combo gun. With one gun, you can take nearly any animal in north America with relative ease.

I've always wanted to and wondered the practicality of rebarreling a bolt action Spanish 9mm Destroyer carbine to one of the bottle necked .30 / 7.62 pistol cartridges either the 7.62x25 Tokarev, .30 Luger , or the .30 mauser , bet it would make a neat little rifle !

I like to see Springfield Armory make an M14 that doesn't weigh a ton. You can get those polymere stocks but for some reason they screw up the mechanics and shooting of the rifle. M14 great great rifle.

Echo2, I believe Savage makes a bolt action in the FNH 7.5, the model 25 walking predator , though not what you would call a little rifle.

and one that can send people flying across rooms and cause almost anything to explode just by shooting it!
There ain't too many problems you can't fix with $500 or a 30-06.

Him-"Whats the best knife for survival?"
Me-"the one that's in your pocket."
Him-"I don't have one in my pocket."
