Default thinking of leaving civilization for awhile

anybody ever just picked up and took off. I have been seriously thinking about strapping on my boots and backpack, then heading for the great wide open. I think six months to year or more. Has anybody ever done anything like this? If so what was your experiences.

Hey Ninja - how about heading on over to the Introduction section and tell us about yourself. Thanks. http://www.wilderness-survival.net/f...splay.php?f=14 There's a template on posting an intro at the top of that page if you'd like to use that.

That question is probably the second most asked question on the forum. Right behind what's the best survival knife.

I'm going to agree with what Sourdough said in your Intro thread. Go for it. Be smart about it, but do it if it's something you want to do.

I go for about one week out of the year, that about does it for me. Now be a good boy & go to the intro thread if you haven't already done so.

Sourdough, What goes better with coffee and vanilla creamer, Jack Danials or Jim Beam?
    1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
    2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.

Wow, you must have some money your wife don't know about. Either that or she is away visiting her mother.
