    You said in your intro that you have gone for a week. I would recommend a month first, then if you like it, go for 6.

    i tried but i didnt last long. that wat mostly because i didnt know that environment at all. not that i just walked into an environment i didnt know on purpose. i didnt realize the environment would be different in that area till i got there. so i stayed 3 days. i coulda gone longer but why bother if i couldnt stay there. ill try again some other time.

    where are you trying to go ? are you staying in alaska or heading out of it ?

    i think it sounds like fun. would you go alone or with a friend? its been my fantasy to do that kind of thing since i was 10. when im prepared enough my boyfriend and i would might try that someday on the Appalachian trail. or some other similar place. probably with a dog.
    if you go to alaska you might want to bring a dog. its another mouth to feed but can help alert you to bears and maybe help keep them away from your food. also help you stay warm and if you can train it to hunt all the better.
