Default A quick way to prepare small gamebirds.

I know some of you may already know this, but I saw this a while ago and thought..wow! that's clever. The clip is a bit longwinded and the interesting bit is about 4min30sec in. If you want to watch the whole clip, don't drink any liquids, you may end up with it on your sceen. Ramsay is a bit of a prat, but the guy with him is the one worth watching.

WARNING! Wer're talking Gordon Ramsay so the language is an issue!

    ....
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

I don't know, you boys and toys! The bit I meant was the neat way the pigeon was turned inside out and presto! ready for the pot, no plucking, skinning, gutting! wanders off muttering.......

That was a cool method. Could probably use it for other game birds as well.

the meal he cooked looked tasty too.

dont try pulling other birds apart like gordon done with that pigeon it does not work ,try pulling the head off a for example a grouse with one hand grab the head and flick the body down and hey presto the head dont come off now try that with a pigeon but only half the power of the flick and you will find that you have a head in your hand and no body ,pigeons come apart much easier than any other bird so that way to get the breast off any other bird wont work aswell as it does on pigeon

I've not actually used this method, I couldn't find the vid of it and also couldn't remember how it was done! I really don't see any reason why it shouldn't work with other small gamebirds, I do a similar thing with chickens to save me gutting. When I get some Partridge I'll give it a go and let you know the results! I would think it definitely works with Doves. Let me know how it goes!
