    Default Have a Great Week!!

I just thought I'd wish everyone a great week. The weather here looks like it's going to be pretty darn nice this week. Highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Great fall weather with a full moon on the rise.

I don't know about you but I plan to do a couple of days of squirrel hunting this week with an overnight stay thrown in. I'm cheating this week. No tent. I'm staying in the back of the truck. And just to show you what a weeny I am I bought a Coleman Sportcat heater today.

If UPS delivers my new .177 tomorrow I get to sight it in and I'm taking it with me along with my Ruger Single Six. Who know's, a bunny might even try to sneak up on me forcing me to defend myself.

Rick, what ammo are you using for your .177 and the ruger? Hollow points, shorts, longs what have you. Just curious.

Sam - This whole .177 thingy is brand new to me. I haven't used an air gun since I was a kid. I picked up an assortment to try in the rifle to see which is the most accurate. I have Premier Hollow Points, Gamo Hunter, Gamo Match, Gamo Master Point and Gamo Magnum. I'm hoping the rifle arrives today and I can get it to the range to sight it in and see which works best.

For the Ruger, I'm going to carry Remington Subsonic .22L. I'll be hunting in 22,000 acres of woods but I'm still a bit paranoid about how far a .22 can travel.

Watch out for the ambush. They are pretty good at coordinating a good L-shaped one. If you vary your travel routes, then it will keep them off guard.

And where, pray tell, does it say in the rules that life is supposed to be fair?

The RWS arrived today and it's now sporting a scope. I'm going to clean it in the morning and head to the range to see if I can sight it in. I just love toys!!

Rick, is that scope made for an air rifle? I understand that air rifles will bust up a scope that is not made to stand up to an air rifle.

Range? Do it in your yard. That is the beauty of an air rifle.

Yes. The scope is specifically for air rifles. It's a Leapers 4x32 with mil-dot reticle. This is not a $1200 scope but then I'm not making shots 1/2 mile away either. Supposedly, the RWS 34 can make shots out to 100 yards.

I also have a 9mm carbine I need to sight in so the range is a given.
