    Default Another "Unknown" Plant

I've been through Peterson't guide front to back, back to front, upside down and sideways, and I can't find this plant. Any ideas? It sure is purty.

go through the wildflowers identification key and through the process of elimination you will boil it down to a few. you can get a better look at it than I can and would be able to identify it without me asking a ton of questions.

if I had to guess, I would say it is some type of aster, and either is common beggarticks, or shepherds needle. but I really don't know, just thought I'd take a stab at it.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. Helen Keller
