    Default some recent photos...

I have been spending alot of time in Yellowstone lately. Had an interesting an encounter with this fine lad the other day....20 yards away! I had my 11 month old son on my back! it was intense, but the Griz rambled off, and never even blinked at me.

He never made a sound, I thought he might be asleep, then when the bear got up the hill and into the trees, I swear little man let out a big sigh, then he giggled. It was an intense moment.

Cool in some ways, but afterwards I kind of felt I exposed my little fella to an unnecessary risk and I felt like a bad parent. I have gotten over that feeling now, because he doesn't have a choice but to grow up in an area that has over 600 grizzlies inhabiting it....he's going to encounter bears its inevitable

Jason - honestly - the first thought that went through my head was - since he's growing up in grizzly country, it's a good thing he has a good teacher. That would be a whole lot better than being shielded away from them and then stumbling across one when he was five or six.

Enjoyed the pics...and the exchange you and Crash had. Thanks!
