    Default Labor day weekend

Anyone take advantage of the weekend?
Me and the wife took about a 600 mile road trip Friday to Sunday in southern Ut. and I left the camera home

The scenic contrast is something else and we looked at some Indian ruins.

I took my sons dove hunting this weekend. We had some good quality time together.

No thanks. Too many out driving over this holiday. Safer to stay home.

I stayed home and rested up to get ready for work tomorrow. Like Rick said also, safer to be home than on the roads.

I chopped wood all day Sat.... then yesterday I went for a lil' hike in the morn and went out on my kayak for about 4 hrs, today I just got back from my son's pop warner game... Man, I LOVE these long weekends!!! right now I'm debating whether I should chop more wood (probably should) or grab the rod, jump in the kayak and do sum fishin' (probably will)

I put up about 100 feet of stockade fence, cleaned the gutters, then power washed the neighbors stockade fence. The women around here take the labor in labor day seriously

We bought a new camera on Saturday so decided to test it out. We drove down the Kenai on Sunday. I hae to say so far the Kenai is the most beautiful part of Alaska.

We went hiking today at the Ijams nature trail and had an absolute blast. We listed off all the plants we could identify for absolute certain, may apples, walnuts, pecans, lady's slipper, bracket fungus, poke and the list goes on.

Took pictures of plants we weren't familiar with for further study. Crappy pictures because it was on the cell phones instead of the good camera which got left at home along with the Off... remind me to beat my husband soundly after I'm done scratching my flesh off my bones.

Came across a of yellow slider and got hissed at. Found some thick canopy to hide under when it started raining. Wished the caves weren't blocked by huge iron bars so we could explore further. We really enjoyed our walk through, got to see a turkey vulture and a red tailed hawk that they have on site. Wanted to play in the water with all the lily pads, but thought better of it. It was really just very relaxing.

I drove a whopping 5 min to the reservoir and went fishing. Not too much luck. Oly, you don't know the best spot on the reservoir to fish do you?

We went to McCall and stayed at a cabin on the lake. http://www.payettelake.com/

Went hiking. It was supposed to be a huckleberry picking expedition, but no huckleberries = hike

    Went out on the boat.

Went to the farmer's market and bought a yummy marion berry pie.

    Drank lots of cosmopolitans.

Hubby fixed a cabinet drawer and a refrigerator (he MUST have a project at all times!)

Then went and picked up my BIL's sailboat and brought it back home.

Now to relax from the vacation!
