If this isnt the right place, feel free to move it.
But throughout the year I gather about a bucket a week in ash from my wood burning stove. Is there any real use for hardwood ash?

jeffc.... Yes there are many uses for hardwood ashes. One of them is Lye. Leaching wood ashes plus a couple of extra steps will produce lye. You can use to make soap among other things if you google making lye soap you can find out how. As I said there are other uses but I'm having a Rick momen...... Er..... I mean a senior moment and can't remember what at the moment I'll think about it and let you know wahat else.
You can make lye with it.

I put the ash in the outhouse hole. The outhouse suffers enough what with having been born with no door, I felt the least I could do was give it a ASH'HOLE.......
Somehow I just knew there was going to be mention of ash hole in this thread. Good thing it's summer or we'd have to read about ice hole too.
jeffc. the very reason i and others dont respond to threads.the thread gets hyjacked by nonother than the moderators, and quality control.........to read and contribute,i have to wade thru senseless diatribe, and puns..useless to a survival forum, and counter productive..check the search function.google is more helpfull than these talking heads.... jeff pm me if i can help.

Well, Palm Stalker, you just impressed the hell out of me. You could have PM'd the answer to Jeff. No, you had to come on here and mouth off. Nice. Oh, did you actually read Posts 1 and 2?
Follow your own advice and don't post the senseless diatribe!
