Hi everyone! (New to this format... excuse any formatting errors)
First post, lurker for awhile. I'm a fairly new granny, 6 grandbabies in less than 3 years. Also, we have 2 German Shepards, getting old, 10 (rescue) and 12 (got as a puppy). One is in doggy heaven, she'd be 16 (another rescue).
I was reading the thread, "what have you done to prepare":

The past couple months, we've done a LOT of stuff to prepare. First, we bought a new Beretta 45, ammo has been an issue, but, I'm excited to have it. Looking into a used shotgun and a 22 rifle just because we can get a good deal.
Second, my daughter and I found a dented canned veggie place. Tons of stuff there, corn, beans, peas, potatoes, carrots, etc. I've spent about $80 and have over 500 cans of food. We've been stocking up. Also split a membership to Costco with another daughter (I have a total of 4 daughters).
We have a tornado cellar we've upgraded, painted, added new shelves, and stocking with paper goods and basic survival things such as farmer matches, water, hand radio, coleman stove, blankets, etc. Started the planning of cutting down 3 huge cottonwoods and and upgrading our fireplace for an insert instead of a stupid heat sucker.
We are looking into a generator, we are on well and septic.
Wisconsin is trying really hard to compete with California and New York as the worst state. I've enjoyed reading a lot of threads here.
Any additional advice? I'd love to move out of here, but hubby's job and all.
Looking forward to meeting everyone,
Uvajed
