    Cool Here's three by Buck!

Pick up the Buck "Special" at Wal-Mart for $35.00, or check this one out. (Buck Vanguard w/ rubber handle)

I'm partial to the regular straight edge (non-serrated) USMC KaBar. They can be had for around $45. If you do a quick search on this forum you will see the KaBar is one of the favorites on this forum. I don't dig serrations because 1, they are a pita to sharpen, 2, when you use a knife to whittle something down you typically use the portion where knife makers like to put said serrations, as KaBar did on the knife you pictured. Serrations on that portion of the blade don't make a lot of sense to me, and really, how often are you going to have to use them? A sharp KaBar will cut through a lot of stuff sans the serrations. Honestly you're probably not going to be cutting through 4" + rope that is used to moore boats/ships to docks. My recommendation, USMC KaBar, combat proven since WWII.
