I agree with the ladies (see how well my wife has me trained). That's why I made the doesn't butter taste like butter comment. Never much cared for drinking buttermilk.

While on that subject... Like butter, have lot's of it and want to keep it unrefrigerated? Try Ghee!
Ghee
Ingredients:
* 1 pound unsalted butter
Preparation:
Using a medium saucepan, heat butter on medium heat.
Allow butter to melt and bring to a boil, stirring. You will notice that the oil will separate itself. The top will begin to froth; remove froth.
Allow the oil to become clear. Once, clear, remove from heat and allow to cool for 15 minutes.
After cooling, strain ghee through a very fine strainer into container or jar, or through 3-5 layers of cheesecloth.
Put lid on container and store on shelf.
You can "hot bath" can this and it will keep for years.

Yeah... I wasn't going to go into all the religious stuff about Ghee. Suffice to say it has many uses traditionally in India. Food, cooking oil, light, a pretty good Axle Lube for wood hubbed wagons (Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratha_Yatra).
Having been to Ratha Yatra both in the US and in Puri(Incredible experience!), I can attest to how well those "juggernauts" roll...
