Default Hobo stove published in Backwoodsman

    [gloating on]

    Hi,
I just stopped by to gloat. My article on how to make a hobo stove just got published in Backwoodsman Magazine. And you know the font they used for the title and my name? It's called "Hobo" also. Heh.

Edit: It's the May/June 2009 issue. Available at Barns and Noble and other large book stores.

The only mistake was not submitting this to QA before seeking a publishing venue.

    When will they ever learn?

Oh and congratulations, I think I'll subscribe now to catch your article

Nope. They (the magazine) like original material.

Although this pic is from my website. Make it out of a coffee or large peaches can.

Wait just a dog gone minute. You come on here and soak up all our free knowledge. To wit (that was for Trax) to wit, we gladly provided it. Then you traipse (there's another one, Trax) on down the road and publish an article. Did you give any of US credit? Sure, yeah, right. Do we get to share in the accolades or the MONEY?

That's okay, congratulations. I just wanted to give you a hard time (and get my point across).

    Yes, but they're chewy.

So, yes I get a year added on to my subscription.

Believe me, they really want articles, even if it's just a real short hint, they will publish it in the letters section. You guys should write something and send it in. Their website is:
    http://www.backwoodsmanmag.com/

I don't want you to think you can't write in because you have bad spelling and grammar, so do they! It's a down home mag just trading hints. Charlie (the owner) is a real nice guy. He also sells old (used) high-carbon knives in the $20-30 range.

Now I must go pick out options for that yacht I'm buying. Since now I'm rich and famous. *snort*

Which would work better? Dazzling them with my brilliance or baffling them with my BS?
I do rather well with either, just need a pen name.

Coot, you can do either or. Some authors use pen names, like Wildfoot, some use Indian names as they are part Indian. If you want a subscription you will need to give them your real name for a mailing address, but ask them to publish your pen name for the article.
