    Default Home-made Wood saw..

This was kind of an experiment to see how it would come out... and to see if it would work.

    But, I made a saw, using a 12" saw blade that I bought for $2.99 + tax.

I used a drill to drill holes, another (24") saw to cut slots for the blade, and some wood from the wood pile; also a 6" wood dowel that I found in the garage, as well as some old wire.

It works pretty well... I cut a 4" log with it... I found that I just have to be careful to not "kink" the blade while sawing... but it only weighs about 8-10 oz. I used a quarter for size comparison.

Good job. It's always nice to be able to improvise when you need it.

Very cool. It is alot easier to carry a blade than a whole saw.

It's amazing what you can come up with when you think outside of the box. Survival is often about improvising. Excellent job!!!!
