Thread: Mantrapping

  1. #1

    Default Mantrapping

Ok, first, this isn't about catching a mate, so all those so inclined please tune out now.

For those of you that have read a few of my posts it's no secret that physical security is my primary concern. I've made it a point to aquire the combat skills I need to perform on just about any level, armed, unarmed, etc. etc.

There is one area that I have neglected for the most part, always assuming that I could be crafty enough to improvise mantraps, or booby traps if you prefer, as needed. Since I'm running out of things to play with while the wife is out of town, I'd like to hear some of your favorite man traps. I'm looking for something new and original if you can. I mean, sure, everyone likes punji pits, but that's one that a child can imagine.

EDIT: I neglected those mantraps that don't go boom.

Web resources would also be appreciated.

Paladin Press has everything your talking about. I'm way too paranoid to discuss it online tho. Everything I say can and will be used..... You get the point.
    Well why not?

I suspect that you're familiar with The Anarchist Cookbook. If not, here it is:

lol. Thanks. I haven't seen that thing in 10+ years. there was another one floating around that used to use the T word instead of anarchist. I used to read that thing like it was the bible. Surprised it never ended me up in jail, since I can't JUST read something.

Crash, it looks like Jay took down his photos.

I have a book called, "Mantrapping", by Ragnar Benson... its pretty good. Lots of drawings, etc. Even shows how to "kill" an APC/tank (sending it off a cliff).

Doing a google search will also turn up quite a few results; for the really ingenius... and if you have a couple of "extra" shotguns ... you can really do some "perimeter security.

Needless to say; man-trapping is only for use - in the United States, at least, when TSHTF, resulting in TEOTWAWKI... even using it for trespassers, poachers, rustlers, etc can get you in serious trouble with the courts.

Though, certain "non-lethal" methods may be marginally acceptable... for instance... I had a friend that owned about 40 acres in the country (in Tennessee with a healthy deer population. He had trouble with poachers - found three gutpiles one day. He half buried a board, riddled with 6" nails, about 20 yards inside his property, near a back gate that the poachers used (the gate had a "No Tresspassing" sign on it).

He came through one morning, and from the tire tracks/foot prints... and the board thrown into the bushes... he figured that he got all four tires... didn't catch the poachers... but he didn't have any more trouble after that.

But, again... there are legal issues to consider... so... be aware...

YOu can just clear your list. But its way easier to up load them all to photo bucket and copy and paste the IMG code into your post. Then you can choose the size of the pic on the screen, not in the uploading. if that makes any sense. As for clearing your lsit, i think there is a button or something after it is full, But i'm not sure.

I'd recommend studying old Wile E. Coyote films. He's a genius!

Ken, if that thing was baited with bacon it'd get all of us.
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

Love the mouse trap. It uses beer as the bait.
