    Default What's in a name???

Like the bard said (not a quote): "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"?

So what is really in... a...your name?

Not all of us go by the government registered name, only for "official" purposes at times.

Families, have special names for you, the one that grows with you
your spouse has that special little midnight come hither name you love
friends have the name you acquired during that fishing trip...oh so long ago
your boss...well enough said about that one

Mine, roughly means "little bird" the one that hangs around all winter, but could be applied to many small bird.... like a "chick a dee", not "real" manly...but it fits
    Bear Clan

    I was born with nothing,
with hard work and deligence I still have most of it
this week a lot less...must be a hole in my pocket

I was trying to come up with a handle for a game I played on the PC long ago, after I was getting stumped with all the Doug Z combos being taken (and Doug Zdanivsky being too much typing)..

My wife walked by with a load of laundry and quickly came up with "lazy sack", or lazysack..

But they just call me lazy (which they oddly still use even if they know my real name)..

    wildography = WILDlife photOGRAPHY...

I'm really good at wildlife photography, as well as going into "wild" areas that most people don't go into... when I lived in Yosemite National Park, I would often go places that few people would go to (usually because it was to difficult, or "dangerous", to go to these places)... for example, I've been under/behind Upper Yosemite Falls, on the northwest shoulder of Half Dome (where Ansel Adams took the photograph: "monolith"), and many other areas in Yosemite National Park that fewer than 1% of the visitors ever see.

    Cool Well now...

As I've posted before, when I was about 9 years old I used to play "military games". I was always the Sergent so the other kids in my "squad" called me "Sarge". Since I'm now regressing into my 2nd childhood,(my wife says I've never left my 1st) I've latched back onto it.

I love to be in the woods and learn ways to do things the old ways. The 86 is the year I was born.

Back home everyone call me Kidd because my youngest friend is in his 50s, so I'm always the kid in the group.

RBB = Raised By Bears - a name my hunting/fishing buddies came up with many years ago. My siblings and I were raised a bit more rustic than most. This is not always a good thing. Some of my wild habits still drive my missus up a tree.

My whole life I have been called "Bart" or "Homer" cause my last name is Simpson.
In the Air Force I am called "Bug Boy" or "Bug Stomper" cause I do Pest Control
I have also been called "Dougie", "Dougie Fresh", "Dougless" or "MacArthur" as in "Douglas MacArthur"
In Middle School I was called "doughboy" or "Rolly Polly" cause I was chubby.
But I am still Doug Simpson born in Indianapolis IN no matter what I'm called or have been called.

I've met people over the years who call me "Marky Mark". If you remember Mark Wahlberg back in the early 90's, that's the name he released his music under. Whenever I hear someone call me that name, I think they must be my age. Kids younger than that won't remember, and those older weren't in to "good vibrations".

My real name is K+++N L+e K++++r. My mother has always called me K++++r. In the military you are called mostly by your last name, So I was called K++++r in the military. I met my wife in the military so she has always called me K++++r. When I decided to join this forum I choose to use my initials along with the two letter code for the state I reside in. Hence, klkak. Not K++++r.

my grandmother was called pewee for much the same reason.

as for canid, the canids are very sacred to me, particularly wolves and coyote.

my legal name has never meant all that much to me.
