    Default Rossi vs. H&R?

I've been looking to buy a trunk/survival gun lately and the two I've been looking at are the Rossi youth matched pair in .22/.410 and the H&R Survivor .410/.45. The Rossi set is a bit small (it is a youth gun) but if I could find a larger stock for it I think it might be a better choice as .22 seems like a much more popular survival round than .45 LCP. Any thoughts, advice?

While everybody is thinking about it, how about heading over to the Introduction section and tell all of those that are thinking a bit about yourself. Thanks.

I personally, would go with the .22. However, i have little use for a .410 so I just went and bought a ruger 10/22.

Yeah. Sort of hard to figure out what advice to give. If you're 12 that's one thing but if you're like 45 then we might advise someone to load it for you being old and all.

If you are going to get a multi barrel single shot, get it in more useful calibers/gauges.
    ie. .22 & 12 ga. or .308 & 12 ga.
    I know what hunts you.

Unless you absolutely have to have a rifle this might be a good choice. http://www.taurususa.com/products/pr...egory=Revolver. I've shot one with a 410 in it. Not to bad at all. I bet a 45 LC would pack a wallop too.

I purchased a ROSSI 22/20 guage combo for Christmas. I was impressed with the fit or both barrels, and the accuracy of the 22 LR. Take down is easy. It comes with a carry bag and teaches one shot, one kill hunting.

I had an uncle that had a 22/20ga. combo and I loved that thing. I tried my best to buy it off of him but he wouldn't sell it. He finally passed away and I never did find out what happeed to the gun. I know that I got my fair share of squirrels with the 22 part of it because that thing was accurate. I also took a few bunnies with the 20 guage.
Take only what you need, and leave the rest.

If available, I'd go with a 22/20 gauge - reason - if nothing else, the 20 gauge cartridges are a lot cheaper than 410 cartridges. If options were limited to those you've given - I'd go with the 22/410.

I would take the H&R over the Rossi. However i would go with a 20 or 12 ga.
with a .22 mag maybe .243 cal. on top. H&R is your best choie of the two.

If I was looking for a survival rifle combo I would take a hard look at the Rossi 223/20 ga combo. GS20223YBS, which has a SYNYHETIC stock, and a 3 inch chamber for the 20 gauge

I have an adaptor that allows me to use any .22 in a .223 chambered rifle.

This would give me a lot of options. .22S .22L, .22 LR, 22 shot, .223 in any bullet weight and type IE: SP, HP, FMJ, 20 ga, many shot sizes and slugs.

The Rossi comes in the trifecta which adds the 223 to the 20 gauge and 22. I bought just the 22/410 for my daughter and I can shoot this gun well. Think m4 with stock collapsed all the way. Thats how this gun feels to me anyway.
The Rossi also has a hollow stock which could hold some small items if you wanted....I like it.

Buy the H&R. It is a higher quality product.
    1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
    2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.
