Angry eBay ban sale/purchase of knives in UK

Yesterday, 9th February 2008, eBay gave in to public and political pressure, and confirmed live on the BBC program Watchdog, that both the sale and purchase of knives will be banned in the UK to and from all countries in which eBay opperate. eBay's representative stated that the bad will be in affect within 2 weeks, and that only kitchen utensils from certified suppliers will be exempt from the ban.

Welcome to the UK. You are no longer able to buy or sell knives on eBay.

What are we in this country ? Paranoid about people having knives ?

If this is a knife crime thing then the government and the public should have a long, hard think about WHAT knives are used in stabbings, muggings etc.....

CHEAP KITCHEN, CRAFT, STANLEY Knives. Which are all avalible in your local hardware or sometimes suppermarket store.

Hopefully some people in this country grow some braincells and think before they open there big mouths.

We don’t have much freedom with guns either. People just seem to get stabbed instead and probably at a way higher rate than shootings.

If you Google "knives uk" there are quie a few sites that pop up. I wonder how many will follow suit? As with many things - when the cost of doing business (regualtions, $$$, outside pressure) gets too high....business will close or move.

Default You can still do it here!

Apologies if this is in the wrong place or inappropriate.

Knives of all types can still be bought and sold on ******* where collectors are treated with respect and as adults.

We wage war on fakes and have specialist moderators in place to help ensure that we provide a safe trading environment. Unlike eBay, there is no charge to list, no charge for images, no charge for using two categories, no charge for gallery images and just a 3% end of sale fee.

We are the official online auction partner of many clubs including the British Ordnance Collectors Club, militaria clubs, sports clubs etc

Membership is free, why not join today and make your voice heard? If you like what you see, please tell other knife collectors and dealers about us!
