Being a still hunter I can just sit for hours in the woods and do nothing.I do have a journal,diary sounds sissy,once at camp after dark I cook and wash up,stoke the fire and talk to others.Just staring into the fire and watching the flames is entertaining and if I brought along a guitar thats nice too.If Im alone,after eating and fierwatching for a while I go to bed.Oh the wife and I like to play chess while sitting around camp.

so sometimes when i am out in the bush i can get really bored especially in the winter with night falling so early usually you want camp established my 4pm (1600 h) so then what do ya do, i don't make weapons or many tools so as i am sitting there tending to the fire not really tired my mind wanders as some of you have expereinced here when i get back from my outings , i have a book to help the mind but what about long nights or being stuck in a blizzard or such. how do you pass the time

I always bring a crooked knife. I often carve bowls, cups, or spoons.
