Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he's too old
to fight... he'll just kill you.
You really should check out the bench rest community "PPC" caliber chambered rifles have been setting records like nobodies business. If you aren't shooting .25 inch groups (that is center to center) you're not even in the running.
The only thing bench rest and rifle shooting have in common is the trigger.
1. If it's in your kit and you don't know how to use it....It's useless.
2. If you can't reach your kit when you need it....Its useless.

Well ......... there may be a bullet involved too.
Yea I guess there is that also. I did the bench rest thing for several years. With my 22 ppc I could shoot groups that were less then caliber at 100 yards. The only thing bench rest did for me was eat my money. My rifle's at the time cost more then my truck did.

Well I for one don't do that kind of shooting, I try to only do the shooting I will use in a real life scenerio, meaning everything inside the dishpan on a human target or right behind the front leg of the wildlife I'm hunting. But that's just me, although I would like to see the results and/or watch such a competition.
Beo,
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.
In Bench rest competition they measure groups (center to center). So you can actually have a group that is less then the caliber of the bullet you are shooting.
