    Default It's SNOWING!!

Very heavy lake affect snow bands rolling through my area Makes me glad for the 4-wheel drive pickup truck Especially now that I have an hours commute to work everyday. The price of living in relative isolation. I still gotta pay the bills Good thing for me I am an all weather beetle

I hope the weather holds out in Colorado, I have two guiding gigs in the Rocky Mountains, from Nov, 29th till Dec 9th, and needed to hire two pack mules and two extra trail hands. I'm getting to old for this!

Here's hoping it's smooth sailing for you Gray Wolf! The snow up in the Rockies makes the snow here in New York look like flurries!!

I am pretty sure we will see snow this year here in N.Alabama. Looks like it will be a cold, wet winter. Should be fun.

    No Tim,that would be salt.
Snow is the big white fluffy (ok,sometimes it's not quite so fluffy) stuff that falls from the sky.

    Laughing Beetle -
I'm getting some of that lake effect as well. Second time this fall, so far! We got about 4-6 inches mixed with freezing rain last night. Were under a lake effect warning right now. But the roads are mostly clear and the ice has let go of the power lines.

Hey I live in Manitoba people, snow isn't news...when it's not snowing...that's news

Tim, possibly check future postings with MDN, she had a darn good point there. It's important to know the difference between snow and salt, heck they don't even make saltshoes or saltmobiles...
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

I moved to N. Florida from Seattle in 1989. It snowed that year. It was both hilarious and a bit scarey to watch people that had never seen it go out and drive.

We have had snow for two weeks already. Ponds are frozen enough to walk on, larger lakes are ice covered but I am not crazy enough to test the thickness. Large lake (Red Lake) has frozen Bays now.

Snow is deep enough that when I was out hunting this weekend it was easier walking with the snowshoes on. Ski-dos are out and it is getting cold enough at night to plug in the truck. Windows are frozen shut on the truck I will have to head south soon so I can open them.

I love winter, I am dusting off the winter gear and making plans for my first camping trip

Okay, Red Lake. That's just God's way of saying you shouldn't live there. Frozen lakes in November. Really, that's just not right!

i just like the snowy weather i guess. i am looking forward to teaching my nieces how to build snow forts and shelters. The other morning the eldest wanted me to "catch" a pheasant that was wandering around the lower yard. That girls eyesight is amazing! I didn,t even see the bird until I had almost stepped on it! Gotta love kids, as long as I can give them back to their mom ;D

Starting this afternoon we'll be under another lake effect snow warning for the next day and a half. Just think, in another four weeks, it will be Winter.

Well, we have 2 months of winter done, and only 9 more months to go. You do the math.

Note: if you graduated after 1975 ask an old person to do the math, while you set his VCR, or whatever gissmo they use now days.....
